Jeff Gordon welcomed Carlos Alcaraz to the world of stock car racing as the tennis phenomenon recently visited the Hendrick Motorsports garage where he checked out the cars and got involved with the pit crew members.

Gordon is a former NASCAR Cup Series driver who won four championships with Hendrick Motorsports. Today, the 53-year-old Californian serves as the vice chairman of the said Chevrolet-based team.

Per HMS' Instagram, the race team shared photos of Carlos Alcaraz touring its garage. Alcaraz, who is worth $20 million (as per Celebrity Net Worth) also took a picture with Gordon, with the team saying:

"When championships collide! Thanks for hanging out with us, @carlitosalcarazz."

During the visit, Carlos Alcaraz hopped inside the Garage 56 Chevrolet Camaro. Garage 56 notably entered the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans to showcase the capabilities of stock cars to the world. The car finished 39th out of the 62 entries.

Seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson, F1 champ Jenson Button, and Le Mans winner Mike Rockenfeller served as the drivers for the Garage 56 entry in the French enduro race.

Alcaraz also met up with the Hendrick Motorsports pit crew. The Spanish tennis champion learned how to use the jack, which lifts the car to allow the tire changers to mount new slicks.

The visit at Hendrick Motorsports came shortly after Carlos Alcaraz's exhibition match against Frances Tiafoe at the Charlotte Invitational. The tennis event's venue and the HMS garage both happen to be located in North Carolina.

While Alcaraz prepares for the 2025 ATP season, Hendrick Motorsports gears up for the next NASCAR season which will kick off at the Daytona International Speedway for the prestigious Daytona 500 in February next year. The team's driver lineup remains unchanged meaning William Byron, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Alex Bowman will return to HMS in 2025.

Jeff Gordon shares thoughts on NASCAR's international expansion

With the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season scheduled to run a race in Mexico, Hendrick Motorsports vice chairman Jeff Gordon shared his thoughts on NASCAR going international and the challenge for the expansion.

Speaking with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Gordon believes the logistics would be challenging as the drivers will be going down to Mexico from Michigan. After the race, the drivers will travel all the way up to Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania.

"This is going to be really challenging, and test all of us doing this, this trip to Mexico City this year, because I think we've got, like, Michigan and Pocono right on either side of it. So it's gonna, it's gonna be tough," Gordon said.

Regardless, the four-time champion applauded the sport for scheduling an international points-paying race next year, saying:

"But I think it's the right thing to do, but it's a points race, right? So, that is the most unique thing that we've done internationally."
