Ty Gibbs recently shared a picture of the NFL star Sean Taylor in a post on his social media handle. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver remembered the former Safetyman of the Washington Redksin on his 17th death anniversary.

The No. 54 Toyota driver Gibbs is the grandson of the JGR owner Joe Gibbs and the son of former NASCAR driver Coy Gibbs. Apart from being a part of the NASCAR fraternity, Joe Gibbs and his son were the former head coach and assistant coach of the Washington Redskins. Moreover, Coach Gibbs won three Super Bowls and four NFC Championship titles with the famed NFL team.

In a recent Instagram post, JGR's Ty Gibbs paid tribute to the late Sean Taylor, who was a victim of a home intrusion in his Miami Area home in 2007 at the age of 24.

Meanwhile, the young Toyota driver Gibbs completed his second full-time Cup Series season with his grandfather's racing team and was ranked P15 in the final Drivers' standings.

The Charlotte, North Carolina native will now look to capitalize on the 2025 NASCAR season albeit with a shakeup inside the Toyota roster.

"I think stuff changes and it's healthy": Ty Gibbs reflects on the shuffle inside the grandfather-owned Joe Gibbs Racing

Ty Gibbs shared his thoughts on Joe Gibbs Racing's decision to move the #54 crew chief, Chris Gayle, to Denny Hamlin's #11 Toyota team. This decision was made after Hamlin's long-time crew chief, Chris Gabehart, was appointed the Competition Director to manage all four entries of JGR in the Cup Series.

Speaking to Bob Pockrass, the 22-year-old made his feelings known about the changes and spoke in favor of the team's decision. He also highlighted his partnership with crew chief Gayle and said:

"We hit a plateau for sure, but I don't think nothing was off. I think that we still have a great relationship, and we've worked really hard this year, and I know they worked extremely hard."

Furthermore, Gibbs added:

"I think stuff changes. I think my grandfather won three Super Bowls with three different quarterbacks, so I think stuff changes, and it's healthy. I think that it will work its way when Gabehart is going to go do this deal, so I'm hopefully excited for the future, and hopefully we run really great next year in one of our races."

Although winless, the young JGR driver Gibbs made his first playoff appearance this season on the basis of points. However, he fell out of contention at the end of the Round of 16. In his 36 starts this season, the #54 driver secured eight top-fives and 12 top-10 finishes.
