Joe Gibbs Racing has shared a post urging water and food donations to aid survivors of Hurricane Helene. The NASCAR team is accepting donations until October 1, with water listed as a top priority.

JGR is among the top teams in the American stock car racing league, amassing over 200 wins since 1992. The team, owned by former football coach Joe Gibbs, currently fields four drivers in the Cup Series, namely Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin, Ty Gibbs, and Martin Truex Jr.

In an Instagram post, JGR detailed the items needed for its relief program. The team wrote:

“To help with hurricane relief, JGR will be accepting water (top priority), boxed non-perishable food, and tarps.

The team shared the drop-off times for the donations.

“Drop off times today September 30th until 6:30pm and tomorrow October 1st from 7am-10am,” Joe Gibbs Racing wrote on Instagram.

Interested individuals are encouraged to drop their donations off at the team’s headquarters located at 13415 Reese Blvd W, Huntersville, NC 28078.

Heather Gibbs, the wife of Joe Gibbs’ late son Coy, took to Instagram and shared the efforts the JGR put into the relief program. In her latest post, she said:

“Praying for everyone impacted by the catastrophic aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Grateful for the brave men and women that have selflessly jumped into action. @joegibbsracing is using all of our air assets to assist. Our pilots flew in supply drops all day yesterday, search and rescue teams are being dropped off today,” Gibbs wrote on Instagram.

At the time of writing, more than 100 people have been killed by Hurricane Helene across six states as per reports.

Joe Gibbs Racing-bound Chase Briscoe had an ‘awkward’ flight experience on the JGR plane

Chase Briscoe may not be driving for Joe Gibbs Racing yet but the 29-year-old driver is already offered rides on the team plane. However, his flight experience with JGR last week was said to be ‘awkward’ after he knocked two of its drivers out of NASCAR Cup Series Playoff contention.

The flight happened after the Bristol night race where Briscoe advanced to the Round of 12, while JGR drivers, Martin Truex Jr. and Ty Gibbs, were eliminated from the postseason.

The story was reported by NASCAR insider Jeff Gluck on X.

“With Chase Briscoe on baby watch (twins soon!), future team owner Joe Gibbs has been offering him rides on the JGR plane. He flew home with JGR last week from Bristol after knocking some of their cars out, which he said was a little awkward (but SHR didn't have a plane go up),” Gluck wrote on X.

Chase Briscoe will leave the Stewart-Haas Racing team at the end of the season and will join JGR in 2025.

The No. 14 SHR Ford Mustang driver is currently 11th in the playoff standings and -25 below the cutline.
