NASCAR Cup Series driver and 2016 Xfinity Series champion Daniel Suarez tied the knot with his fiance Julia Piquet last week in his wife’s hometown of Brasilia, Brazil. Piquet on Monday (August 5) expressed her gratitude on social media to Kelly Piquet, Penelope Kvyat, and other attendees for being part of her and Suarez’s wedding celebration.
The much-awaited wedding of Daniel Suarez and Julia Piquet brought family and friends from both the racing and entertainment worlds together, creating a memorable event.
Julia Piquet, the daughter of former F1 three-time world champion Nelson Piquet Sr., shared some beautiful images from her wedding on her Instagram account, highlighting the significance of having her family members present on such an important day. The picture includes Julia’s siblings Kelly Piquet with her daughter Penelope Kvyat, Nelson Piquet Jr., as well as her mother Sylvia Tamsma.
Remembering her rehearsal dinner, Julia wrote on Instagram:
“One week ago… Our rehearsal dinner was so important to us 🖤 Since we all live so far away from each other, it gave our families a chance to be all together before the big day. I don’t know that we’ll ever really get that chance anymore, so it meant a lot to gather the people we love the most!”
Julia Piquet, who is a health coach, first met Daniel Suarez in 2012, and the two got engaged in November 2022. She has been a supporter of her husband through the highs and lows of his career in the last couple of years.
Julia Piquet’s husband Daniel Suarez shares his racing experience in NASCAR Brazil Series
Daniel Suarez, who drives the #99 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet in NASCAR Cup Series, had a rollercoaster experience making his debut in NASCAR Brazil Series.
The special edition weekend of the Brazil Series included three races at the iconic Interlagos track in Sao Paulo. In Race 1 on Saturday (August 3), Suarez crossed the line first but had a five-second penalty for maneuvers against Leo Torres and ended up finishing P6. In Race 2, he finished runner-up but a penalty to the leader awarded him the win and then closed the weekend with a P3 finish in Race 3.
Sharing his racing experience in Brazil Series, Suarez said (via motorsports.com):
“It was a very entertaining race. Casagrande and Campos, they are great drivers, they did a great job. The race was fun, aggressive, but fun. I enjoyed it. I wanted to be a little bit faster to stay ahead, but they were a little bit better than me and eventually they managed to beat me.”
With a win in Brazil Series, Daniel Suarez became the first ever NASCAR driver to secure a three International Series win in one year. He won the Mexico Series at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on February 4 and Cup Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway on February 25.
