Frankie Muniz is nearing his full-time stint with Reaume Brothers Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Needless to say, Muniz is excited about the opportunity. He just landed in Charlotte and dropped an update on the same on X (formerly known as Twitter) shortly after.

The 39-year-old New Jersey native, best known for playing the titular role in Malcolm in the Middle, an American sitcom that first aired on January 9, 2000, wrote,

“On my first trip of the 2025 NASCAR season. Just landed in Charlotte, getting seats mounted and getting everything prepped for the season now, so we can focus on the important stuff as we get closer to Daytona!”

Muniz will drive the No. 33 F-150 with More Core Diamond Drilling Services & Nugget Trap as his primary sponsor for 10 point-paying races. He hopes for a partnership with Slim Jim as well. However, that is uncertain as of now.

In one of his recent tweets, Muniz addressed the matter, saying,

“Man, all this big news and still no response from @SlimJim . Haha”

Muniz has been dreaming of driving a Slim Jim-sponsored car for a very long time now. Since childhood, Muniz has always doted on the #44 Slim Jim car driven by David Green in the 1990s Busch Grand National Series. Notably, Green, paired with the No. 44 crew, bagged the 1994 championship.

“I was a huge David Green fan. Nothing against Jeff Gordon, but there was just something about that Slim Jim car,” Frankie Muniz said during his appearance on the Dale Jr. Download.

Even if Slim Jim doesn’t come up with an offer for Muniz, there is plenty for him to celebrate in 2025. Malcolm in the Middle is coming back on Disney+ with four new episodes. Besides Muniz, Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek, no other cast members have been revealed yet.

Frankie Muniz highlights “black and white” aspect of NASCAR racing

In 2008, Frankie Muniz bid farewell to his acting career to compete in the Atlantic Championship. Following a 15-year hiatus, he returned for a full-time ride in the ARCA Menards Series with Rette Jones Racing in 2023. He finished the season fourth on points.

It’s been a long time since Muniz opted for an acting gig. But he doesn’t regret it. The way he sees it, racing is more fulfilling than acting. During an exclusive interview with FOX News Digital, Muniz said,

“As an actor, I've been fortunate to do a lot of great things and people tell me, ‘I love your show, or I love this or love that,’ but, you know, it's all based on opinion. I could show up to work as an actor and dedicate my life to the role and feel like I did the best job ever. And then people see it and go, 'Yeah, it was okay. I didn't like it.'”

Unlike acting, racing is about winning or losing. You either win a race and take the trophy or finish second and go home empty-handed. Success in racing, therefore, is not subjective.

“It's in black and white. You either win and you're the fastest or you're slow,” Muniz explained.

Muniz’s first race of the 2025 season is scheduled for Friday, February 14. Named Fresh From Florida 250, the 100-lap event will stream live on FS1 from 7:30 pm ET onwards. Fans can also listen to radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
