Kyle Larson on High Limit Racing's merger
The 2024 season marked a significant milestone for High Limit Racing, co-founded by Larson and Brad Sweet. The series expanded internationally in its maiden rendition, taking the season-finale to Perth Motorplex.
High Limit Racing has an average of 100,000 unique streamers per event. It also had cumulative 2.5 million viewers on FloRacing, according to Sports Business Journal.
In a recent interview with SBJ, Kyle Larson hinted at a possible merger between High Limit Racing and World of Outlaws, describing it as a topic of ongoing discussion. The Hendrick Motorsports driver said:
"I think that’s a thought probably -- it’s at least a topic that we’ve talked about as something that could potentially happen down the road, and I’m sure even World Racing Group has probably had that run through their minds as well. I don’t think we’re to that point yet but hopefully whatever happens will be for the betterment of the sport."
Meanwhile, Brad Sweet, HLR's co-founder and Larson's brother-in-law, remarked:
"This year showed that you could have two different leagues competing at the same time with both having high-level talent and entertaining in different regions of the country as long as we weren’t on top of each other, oversaturating markets. I felt like (World of Outlaws) had a very successful year and we had a successful year."
Sweet won the inaugural High Limit Racing Championship.
