Ty Dillion is set to compete as a full-time driver in the 2025 Cup Series season with Kaulig Racing. Apart from the official press release, the news was shared by senior NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass on social media.
Dillion is set to drive the #10 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Kaulig Racing. This news has caused an uproar among NASCAR fans, with many criticizing the team's decision to allow Dillon to compete in the top national stock car series, instead of a more deserving driver.
The news was shared by both Dillon and Kaulig Racing on their respective X pages. Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports also posted the news on his page. The post has received a lot of backlash from fans since going live.
Here's a look at Pockrass' X post, captioned:
"Kaulig makes it official: Ty Dillon to drive the No. 10 Cup car full time next year (they won’t use the 31). He has driven select races for the team this year. Also an increased alliance with RCR."
Several fans have reacted to the aforementioned post. Here are some reactions shared on X.
"Kaulig is money hunting instead of trophy hunting," wrote an angry fan.
"They just need to stick with Xfinity, they clearly are not serious," added another fan.
"Man I actually like Ty better than his brother but I gotta wonder wth they expect to achieve with this deal," questioned a fan.
"Nobody with the last name Dillon deserves to be in Cup, what a joke," another fan commented.
"It’s crazy how many shots he’s given year after year," reacted an angry fan.
"But why Ty Dillon? Is it just his connection to RCR? There are more proven drivers who can make this team more competitive and marketable than Ty Dillon," another fan complained.
