Kelley Earnhardt recently commented on a post by an employee of her racing company. The co-founder of JR Motorsports shared well wishes under the post, which announced that the employee and his wife are expecting a baby.
A mother-of-three herself, Kelley posted her comment underneath the couple's pregnancy announcement that wrote:
"Congrats! Gonna be fun!"
The expecting father, Michael Campbell, is the Director of Partnerships, At-Track Communications at JRM and also has a PR role for the #7 team, which is the Justin Allgaier team.
Kelley Earnhardt founded JR Motorsports with her brother, NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. in 2002, which began by racing locally at the Concord Motor Speedway. In 2005, the team moved up to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, where it competes to this day. In 2008, Hendrick Motorsports began to provide engineering and chassis support to the Mooresville-based team, bringing Rick Hendrick into its executive team.
JR Motorsports brought home the trophy this past Xfinity Series season, with Justin Allgaier winning his first championship and the team's fourth. Chase Elliot won the first championship for JRM in 2014, with William Byron winning the second in 2017, followed immediately with Tyler Reddick in 2018. Allgaier's win is also the second time in the sport's history that a female owner of the team has won the title with Kelley Eanhardt's name being listed owner of the #7 team. All previous wins were by the #9 team, owned by Hendrick. Earnhardt also becomes the first female owner in the last 18 seasons to have claimed the championship victory.
JR Motorsports has accumulated a total of 86 wins and 1023 top 10s since being founded by the Earnhardt siblings. Apart from being CEO and co-founder of JRM, Kelley Earnhardt is also a board member for The Dale Jr. Foundation and hosts the podcast Business of Motorsports by Dirty Mo Media.
Kelley Earnhardt-owned JR Motorsports will have a new driver in the #1 team for 2025
Earlier this year, it was announced that Carson Kvapil, son of former Nascar Craftsman Truck Series champion Travis Kvapil, will be joining JRM for the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity season. The 21-year-old will join the Earnhardt-owned motorsports company, driving the #1 Chevrolet next year.
Kvapil drove for JRM part-time in the 2024 season in the #88 team for eight races. Over those eight races, he finished in second place at the BetRivers 200 at the Dover Motor Speedway. He also had three top fives and four top 10s.
