Retired NASCAR driver and TV personality Kenny Wallace took to social media to share his upcoming plans for 2025, both on the dirt racing scene and in his personal life. Having retired from full-time racing, the former NASCAR FOX Sports reporter runs occasional dirt races for fun.
In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), the nine-time Xfinity Series winner said he's kicking off 2025 by traveling overseas to Italy in mid-January, which he called a dream come true fro him. He captioned the post:
“'Coffee with Kenny' (Lay your tools down and go home) and our goals for 2025 😁"
In the video, Wallace said,
"January 17th through the 27th, I'm going to fulfill a dream of mine. I'm going to Italy. Me and my buddy, John Scatoni" (6:42).
Wallace added that after his return from the trip, he will focus on getting back behind the wheel of a dirt car. The Missouri native said when he gets back from the trip on January 30th, he's headed to Daytona Beach, Florida to pilot the Sunoco car owned by Nick Hoffman at the Volusia Speedway Park.
"We start racing January 30th, January 31st, and February 1st. It's a new schedule at Volusia this year. I don't know why, but we're running dirt races in nine nights. We start January 30th. You're gonna hear racers go, 'I'm going down in January this year.' That's because you race three days" (7:34 onwards).
Before sharing these plans for 2025, Wallace said he's often asked what his "deal" is next year. He encouraged his followers to set their own goals for the new year.
"Everybody's wanting to know. Everbody. They say to you what they say to me. 'What's your deal next year?' It's like, what do you mean what's my deal next year? Even for you. I'm asking you, ' what's your deal next year,' right? Are you going to work at your same business? What are you going to do? What's your plan for 2025? I think it's good that everybody has a goal. That's imperative in life. If you don't have a goal, you can get messed up" (5:21).
When did Kenny Wallace last drive in NASCAR?
While Kenny Wallace continues to make appearances in dirt racing, he hasn't competed in NASCAR in almost a decade. His final NASCAR race was in the Xfinity Series at the Iowa Speedway in 2015. He finished that race in 15th, piloting a Joe Gibbs Racing car.
