Kevin Harvick, the co-owner of zMAX CARS Tour, has announced that the ladder system and legend cars are returning to the series along with newly expanded divisions. Additionally, the tour will be expanded to the East Coast.
At the 2024 Legend Car Road Course World Finals at Virginia International Raceway, Harvick highlighted that the series will have a full-season presence giving up-and-coming drivers an exciting opportunity to race the series. Some new divisions will be added to the CAR Tours to make the competition more engaging.
The ladder system allows the drivers to progress from Legend cars to higher-model cars and encourages new drivers to compete in the series. Apart from the additions, the CARS Tour is in the early stages of talking about possible East Coast expansion.
The East Coast's goal is to introduce a well-established structure progression system to develop young talent. Reflecting the success of the West Coast this January, the interviewer questioned Kevin Harvick about the East Coast expansion, and he replied:
"It wasn't something that we thought about before January of this year, and it just kind of happened. So it'll be very structured and organized next year with the new classes. And our goal is to put West Coast racing where it needs to be, and Kelo and I'll spend a lot of time out there, whether it's, you know, him and legend car, or myself and the Pro and super and you can run Pro, some pro races out there as well." Kevin Harvick will race his first-ever race on January 25 in the Super Late Model, and the series will run the Pro Late Models in the middle of summer.
CARS Tour owners Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. "dialled" the series back
Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick announced some major changes to the CARS Tour for the 2025 season. The owners want to have a smooth flow of the series without facing any major challenges like 2024.
The former NASCAR Cup Series driver revealed the changes by sharing an X post on his account. Both Harvick and Junior understood the challenges faced by drivers and decided to "dial it back a few events next year," recalling the rain delays in the entire season.
"Teams will enjoy an entire month off in the summer as well," stated Dale Earnhardt Jr.
"Trying to find a unique addition such as @CordeleSpeedway for the April date. The tour is hard at work this time of year," he added.
Kevin Harvick and Junior are trying to find a track to solve the rain delays in the April season. Along with that, the owners also shortened the push Friday practice and shifted it to the evening. The 2024 season had 17 races, but the 2025 season will only have 15.
