As the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to Michigan International Speedway for the first time this season, former NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick shared his insights and predicted the winner for this weekend’s race. Harvick is all in on veteran Ford driver to pick up his second win of the season in Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
On his eponymous “Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour” podcast, the former NASCAR champion shared a detailed analysis of the driver he believes would be a strong contender to win at the Michigan Cup race on Sunday (August 18).
According to Kevin Harvick, RFK Racing driver/co-owner Brad Keselowski is going to win the FireKeepers Casino 400 this weekend. Harvick believes that Ford drivers have performed well at Michigan, and Keselowski has a good chance to take the checkered flag.
Revealing his top pick for the race, Harvick said:
“I'm going to go with his teammate, Brad Keselowski. I think that the Fords have just been so good here. Doug Yates and everybody at Ford always put a lot of emphasis on this race, and the teams know that.
"And I think that's one reason that they run so well. So if there's an engine upgrade, it'll come here. And it also fits the Ford RPM band really well with the way that this track lays out.”
Harvick’s co-host, Mamba Smith, picked Keselowski’s teammate and defending winner of the event, Chris Buescher, as his favorite to win this weekend.
“I’m actually going to go with, I think he might go back-to-back with Chris Buescher. He might go back to back here. They need something. Maybe they can refine that match.”
