As the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to Watkins Glen International, 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick shared his insights and predicted the winner for the second playoff race of the season. Harvick is going with the Hendrick Motorsports driver to win Sunday’s Go Bowling at The Glen at the Watkins Glen International.

On his eponymous “Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour” podcast, Harvick shared a detailed analysis of the driver he believes would be a strong contender to win the second race of the playoffs on Sunday (September 15).

According to Kevin Harvick, William Byron is going to win the Go Bowling at The Glen this weekend. Harvick backs Byron considering his success on road course races.

Predicting the winner for the second playoff race of the season at Watkins Glen, Harvick said:

“I went with William Byron this week. I should have waited a week. I should have done; if I could go back and make all my changes after watching the Atlanta, I would make different picks. But I'm gonna go with, I'm gonna go with William Byron this week. His success on the road courses, I think he's due to have a great run. They've had some okay runs, but nothing, nothing great lately.”

Harvick’s co-host, Kaitlyn Vincie, picked Daniel Suarez considering his past records at the road course.

“I'm going with Daniel Suarez. You know, he obviously won on a road course of Sonoma. He runs well at Watkins Glen; three top five performances there, so I think he could be the guy,” Vincie said.

While co-host Mamba Smith picked Ty Gibbs to win this week, Smith said:

“I'm gonna go with Ty Gibbs. I'm gonna go with Ty because his aggression is high. He wants it really bad, and it's just, it's a good place to be aggressive at”

How has Kevin Harvick’s top pick performed at Watkins Glen International?

The #24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet driver has had outstanding numbers at Watkins Glen International. He has one win and three top-10 finishes, with an average finish of 11.6 in 5 starts at this track.

Byron also holds two victories at the road course. His first road course win came at Watkins Glen in 2023, and his second came at Circuit of The Americas this season. Byron is currently fourth in the Cup Series playoffs points table with 2059 points.
