Kevin Harvick gives his prediction for this weekend's Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

As the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to New Hampshire Motor Speedway, former driver-turned-commentator Kevin Harvick shared his insights and predicted the winner for this weekend’s race. Harvick went with a Joe Gibbs Racing veteran to pick up his first win of the season in Sunday’s USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

On his eponymous “Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour” podcast, the former Cup champion explored a detailed analysis of the driver he believes will be a strong contender to win at the New Hampshire race on Sunday (June 23).

According to Kevin Harvick, the 2017 NASCAR champion Martin Truex Jr., who recently announced his NASCAR retirement, is going to win the USA Today 301 this weekend. Truex Jr. will retire from full-time racing at the end of the current season.

Harvick backed Truex Jr., believing that he has the car and team that can turn things in their favor. Truex Jr. is also the defending winner of last year’s New Hampshire race. Predicting the 2024 USA Today 301 winner on his podcast, Harvick said:

“With his recent retirement, we can all go with Martin Truex Jr. It's a sentimental pick. How can we go against Martin Truex Jr. for New Hampshire right now? If you're gonna win, what a better storybook way to win for Martin Truex Jr. in his final year to go to New Hampshire and win the dang race.”

Harvick continued:

“He is gonna be highly motivated. He's got the cars to do it. He's got the team to do it. He's got the talent to do it. I think he goes up there and gets to fix it up.”

Harvick’s co-hosts also had their say. Kaitlyn Vincie picked Truex Jr. as well, while Mamba Smith went with Josh Bery to win this week.
