As the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to Martinsville Speedway, NASCAR legend turned-commentator Kevin Harvick shared his insights and predicted the winner for the elimination race of the NASCAR playoff Round of 8. He went with a Hendrick Motorsports driver to win Sunday’s Xfinity 500 at 0.526-mile Martinsville track.

In the latest episode of the “Happy Hour” podcast, Kevin Harvick shared a detailed analysis of the driver he believes would be a strong contender to win the eighth race of the playoffs on Sunday, November 3. The race at Martinsville will determine the remaining two spots for the championship 4 race.

According to Kevin Harvick, the #9 HMS driver Chase Elliott is going to win Sunday’s (November 3) Xfinity 500 at Homestead-Miami. Elliott is on the verge of elimination with him being 43 points below the cutline. However, Harvick is confident in Elliott’s growing competitive drive which could position him well for a win at Martinsville.

Predicting the winner for Martinsville race, Harvick said:

“I'm going to go with Chase Elliott. I think he's just reaching his, the end of his wick as far as, you know, the aggression level. And I just keep seeing it tick up a little bit. And with that aggression level, it keeps seeing the front of the pack and we've led some laps now. I think he's got it in him and, uh, they've done a great job”

Harvick’s co-host, Kaitlyn Vincie, picked defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney to win this weekend. Blaney missed out on the potential win at Homestead last week and will have to win at any cost to advance to the championship 4 race.

“I'm also going with a former champion, Ryan Blaney. I think he will be the guy this weekend.”

Meanwhile, co-host Mamba Smith also picked Blaney to win this weekend.

It will be interesting to see how Kevin Harvick and his co-hosts' picks fare at Martinsville.

How has Kevin Harvick’s top pick performed at Martinsville Speedway?

2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Elliott has had outstanding numbers at Martinsville Speedway. He has amassed one win, six top-five finishes, and 10 top-10 finishes, with an average finish of 12.7 in 18 starts at 0.5-mile Martinsville track.

The #9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet driver’s only win of the season came at Martinsville, which advanced him to the Round of 8. He put in a brilliant show at Homestead last week, but it wasn’t enough for the victory and he left Homestead 43 points below to the cutline. He is in a must-win situation at Martinsville to make into the final 4 for the season-finale at Phoenix Raceway on Nov. 10.
