Kevin Harvick's son, Keelan, shared a moment with Sam Franklin Jr. ahead of the Carolina Panthers vs. Dallas Cowboys NFL game. After Franklin Jr. approached Keelan, the two had a terrific handshake, with Harvick watching from the sidelines smiling.

Harvick is a former NASCAR driver who won the Cup Series championship with the now-discontinued Stewart-Haas Racing team in 2014. The Californian got married to DeLana Linville in 2001, and the couple share two children: Keelan Paul, 12, and Piper, 6.

NASCAR reposted the NFL's short video on X showing the handshake between Keelan Harvick and Sam Franklin Jr.

"Sam Franklin Jr. has an incredible handshake with this young fan," the NFL wrote in the caption.
"We know them!" NASCAR wrote.

At the conclusion of the game, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the home team Carolina Panthers 30-14.

Like Kevin Harvick, Keelan is also pursuing a career in racing. Since making his debut in a go-kart in May 2020, Keelan has reached several milestones including winning championships in racing series like the SKUSA Winter Series, USPKS National Micro, and U.S. Legend Cars.

The youngster also recently debuted in a Limited Late Model race at Florence Motors Speedway. Driving his father's No. 62 Hunt Brothers Pizza Chevrolet, Keelan finished eighth in the South Carolina 400 last month.

After the race, Keelan said:

“I feel really good. [...] I can’t thank these KHI guys enough. They put in a lot of work. It’s definitely cool to get my first one under my belt, but I can’t wait for the next one.”

For 2025, Keelan is expected to run a busy schedule, including a drive with Rackley W.A.R. in several Pro Late Model events.

Kevin Harvick gave his verdict on first hunting trip with Keelan

In November 2024, Kevin Harvick brought his son Keelan out to the wild for his son's first hunting trip. According to the NASCAR champion, the hunting trip was a success, with Keelan posing a picture with an elk alongside his father.

"First elk hunt for @KeelanHarvick was a success," Kevin Harvick wrote on X.

During the trip, the father-son duo could be seen fully prepared for the occasion. They brought a double-cab Toyota Tacoma built with a customized truck bed, auxiliary lights, and a roofing rack for additional equipment.

Harvick and his son searched for their target using telescopes. In the last photo, Keelan could be seen sleeping on the couch after a tiring hunting trip.

Keelan is ending the year with a strong season in the INEX Young Lions Asphalt. The young driver won the national championship with an impressive track record. In 49 starts, he amassed 27 wins and 38 podium finishes.

When asked what his biggest challenge was of the year, the 12-year-old driver said:

"I wouldn’t say anything was super challenging, because I had a great team behind me and we always pushed each other to get better each race."

Keelan competed in the Legend Car racing series with Joe Ryan Racecars.
