Recently, Kevin Harvick's son, Keelan Harvick, was thrust into the limelight during a round of "10 Questions" on FloRacing. The young racing enthusiast, who started competing at just seven years old, faced a question about his favorite driver who isn't his dad. While the host expected an answer like Max Verstappen from F1, Keelan surprised everyone by picking a driver from Joe Gibbs Racing instead.

Keelan Harvick has already made a name for himself in the racing world with an impressive go-karting record and victories across various short tracks in the Southeast in a Legend Car. He recently also won a race in the Legends feature at New River and secured a second-place finish in his debut Street Stock race.

Adding to his achievements, Kevin Harvick's son recently took first place in round 8 of the Cook Out Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway, placing him second in the overall points standings—just three points shy of the leader as the series approaches its climax.

When prompted during the interview to reveal a racing role model other than his father, Keelan Harvick responded:

"Probably, Ty Gibbs." [at 1:30]

The host was taken aback to learn that Keelan Harvick admired Ty Gibbs, and probed for the reason behind this preference. Keelan's answer was straightforward and relaxed:

"I don't know. He's just cool. We'd have dinner sometimes."

Further exploration by the FloRacing host into Keelan's past, particularly his time on the F1 circuit in Italy, led to an assumption that Max Verstappen might be his favorite. Clarifying this, Keelan remarked:

"Yeah! But I haven't been there like in a year. So, I watch NASCAR a lot now."

When Kevin Harvick's son, Keelan Harvick, gave his dad a dose of reality

Kevin Harvick isn't exactly a fan of burnouts, but he did acknowledge the reaction from Alex Bowman, the Hendrick Motorsports driver after Harvick commented on Bowman’s actions post-race in Chicago. After Alex Bowman's win, during the cool-down, he tried to drift alongside Bubba Wallace, but it didn’t go as smoothly as intended.

Speaking on NASCAR on NBC, Harvick shared his displeasure, noting,

"He tried to do the drifting thing, which I didn't really like. You're drifting around like somebody else."

However, when Kevin Harvick's son Keelan Harvick learned that his dad had critiqued Alex Bowman, he didn’t hesitate to offer a reality check. Kevin Harvick recounted on his Harvick's "Happy Hour" podcast:

"We were actually driving home as well, and Keelan chirps in from the back seat. He is like 'Oooh! Dad, you're taking some heat.' I'm like heat from what? He's like 'Apparently you critiqued Alex Bowman's drifting attempt, after the race. And he is a drifter.' I had no idea. Alex Bowman's a drifter." [at 0:45]

It'll be fascinating to see how young Harvick carves his own path in the racing world.
