Kevin Harvick's wife DeLana Harvick shared her reaction to their son Keelan's incredible handshake with NFL superstar Sam Franklin Jr. She reposted her son's X post, reacting with a single heart emoji, showcasing her love.

Keelan shared a moment with Sam Franklin Jr., ahead of the Carolina Panthers vs Dallas Cowboys NFL game. The two shook hands but with a twist, including a special move that became the highlight prior to the match. The video was shared by the NFL, who labeled Keelan Harvick as a "young fan," and he reposted it.

His mother DeLana Harvick then reposted it again reacting with a heart emoji.

This was a special moment for the 12-year-old. Franklin Jr. plays for the Carolina Panthers, who suffered a disappointing defeat in their match against the Dallas Cowboys. The final score settled at 30-14 against the Panthers.

Keelan has been following his father Kevin Harvick's footsteps. He recently stepped into his father's old #62 Hunt Brothers Pizza Chevrolet to mark his debut in the Limited Late Model. He finished P8 in the feature race.

"I feel really good," Keelan said after the race. "I can’t thank these KHI guys enough. They put in a lot of work. It’s definitely cool to get my first one under my belt, but I can’t wait for the next one."

Kevin Harvick retired from full-time Cup Series racing at the end of the 2023 season. He shared his racing experience almost equally with Richard Childress Racing and Stewart-Haas Racing. In his first season with the latter in 2014, he also won his only Cup Series championship. He's currently a commentator on NASCAR on Fox and also regularly shares his opinion on his namesake podcast.

Kevin Harvick suggests an interesting strategy to make NASCAR playoffs more competitive

The NASCAR Cup Series playoff system has been under criticism for a long time, and it spiked after Joey Logano won the championship in the 2024 season with a subpar average finish throughout the season.

While many feel that NASCAR should resort to other ways to decide the championship, Kevin Harvick suggested an interesting change that he feels would make the playoffs more challenging. He mentioned that the final race of the season; the Cup Series Championship Race, should not be held on the same track.

Instead, Harvick suggested that it should be rotated between Homestead-Miami, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.

“I wish we would rotate the last race. You know, I think Homestead, Las Vegas, Phoenix. I wish there was some sort of three-year rotation that you got to mix that up so it wasn’t, ‘Hey we ran this track last year; we’ve got really good notes. We’re going to be good if we can get there again.’ And it kind of mixes that up so that you can’t just prepare for one track,” Kevin Harvick said on the Title 24 podcast.

As mentioned, Joey Logano won the Cup Series championship this season and beat Ryan Blaney by a very small margin. This was his third championship.
