Kevin Harvick shared an endearing story about his daughter, Piper Harvick, and Kyle Larson’s daughter, Audrey Larson, enjoying some time at the Go Kart track on Thursday before the race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. On a recent episode of "Harvick's Happy Hour," he mentioned that Piper was thrilled to play the role of teacher, guiding young Audrey around the track.
Kevin Harvick’s son, Keelan Harvick, recently ventured into racing full-size stock cars, achieving a first-place finish in his Legends car. While one might have expected Piper, who was born in December 2018, to follow a similar path, Kevin revealed a different story from their visit to the Go Kart track in July. After their second session, Piper frankly expressed to her father, "Yeah, go-cart racing is not for me in the summer. It's too hot."
Nonetheless, last week, when Kevin asked her if she would like to visit the Go Kart again, Piper happily said yes, provided she could have Audrey Larson as her companion on the track. Reflecting on this, Kevin Harvick remarked that Piper had her "best Go Kart day ever," celebrating the joyous day they spent together:
"Best day she's [Piper Harvick] ever had. And the reason that it was that way is because she could be the teacher. She wanted to teach Audrey [Larson] how to go around the racetrack. And so, she took instruction in front of her very well," Harvick said [at 0:30].
"Piper had the best day she's ever had at the Go-Kart track. Ran as faster than she's ever run at the Go-Kart track. Looked like she knew what she was doing. Ran every session, we had no issues, no complaining. Had a great time," he added.
Kevin Harvick warns Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan of the potential repercussions of ongoing NASCAR charter agreement dispute
Amid the ongoing controversy on the Charter agreement, where all the teams have signed the latest draft by NASCAR, except 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports, Kevin Harvick shared his thoughts on his podcast about the possible future complications. He talked about the added pressures that could disrupt team dynamics, especially during the playoffs.
Kevin Harvick expressed his concerns, saying (via NASCAR on FOX via YouTube):
"Worst timing ever because it’s the most stressful time of the year. You have everything that’s going on with the playoffs, you’re going into the first round of the playoffs. For Denny, he had about as bad of a first-round as you could possibly have at Atlanta. [...] But now you have a chaos around you that you didn't have at the same time you don't have at the most stressful part of the season. So, it's not ideal," he said [at 22:34].
Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin is set to compete at the Watkins Glen racetrack, with an average finish of 15.0 on the track, coming off a P24 finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
