Former NASCAR driver Kurt Busch and his girlfriend Lyda Moore attended the Midget car racing of the USAC series at Ventura Raceway recently. It was the race where Busch's brother, Kyle Busch, took part after making his debut in the series earlier last month.

For the unversed, Kyle Busch took part in the recently concluded 83rd annual Turkey Night Grand Prix of the 2024 USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship at Ventura Raceway on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Busch debuted in the series at Bakersfield Speedway on November 26.

Busch drove the #51B during the race but failed to qualify for the main 98-lap event. He ended up eighth in qualifying 1, and as a result, could not make it through to the next round. Notably, fellow NASCAR driver Kyle Larson also failed to make amends.

Even though he was looking good in the midget car series, he made contact with Corey Day, and as a result, finished his race in 20th place. Day claimed the victory ahead of Buddy Kofoid and Daison Pursley.

Kurt Busch was accompanied by Lyda Moore and another power couple — Matt Ray and Shandy Ray. The former is the CEO and President of Impact Foam, while the latter is the Vice President and CFO.

Impact Foam actively sponsors NASCAR, USAC, IMSA, and IndyCar. Shandy Ray, from her official Instagram account, shared a story recently where Busch, Moore, and the Ray couple were all present.

After his Midget series race at USAC, Kyle Busch is all set to make his debut in next year's Chilli Bowl set to take place at SageNet Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He will take part in the "Super Bowl of Midget Racing" at the Chilli Bowl Midget Nationals from January 13 to January 18.

Kyle Busch revealed why he changed his mind about midget racing

Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup Series champion and a current NASCAR driver, is a renowned name in the American racing fraternity. However, he never tried midget racing professionally until the Bakersfield Speedway race on November 26. But at the end of the 2024 Cup Series season, he stated that he changed his mind, and here's why,

"I would say that the biggest reason why I've changed my mind now is just having more experience of being on the dirt. Knowing a little bit more of what to expect being on the dirt."

Kyle Busch finished the 2024 Cup Series season without a victory. As a result, the Richard Childress Racing driver failed to qualify for the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs and take a shot at his third Cup Series title.
