Retired NASCAR driver Kurt Busch and his girlfriend Lyda Moore were recently seen at the Corvette Mike dealership in Anaheim, California. The 46-year-old took to his Instagram stores to share a selfie of themselves, originally posted on Lyda’s account.
Busch is one of the most revered drivers in the world of NASCAR today, having won 34 races in the NASCAR Cup Series, including the crown jewel Daytona 500 in 2017. Notably, he is one of the few drivers to have won races with all three current engine suppliers in NASCAR, i.e., Chevrolet, Toyota, and Ford.
Dressed in a white turtleneck, Lyda clicked the selfie with Busch, who rocked a greyish-black suit, and wrote,
“Thank you so much @corvettemikeca for making this happen!”
The last time Busch drove a stock car was on July 23, 2022, during a practice session at Pocono Raceway. That day, he suffered a brutal crash which left him with serious concussions to the head. Although Busch recovered from his injuries, he felt that running another full season of racing would be impossible for him.
Therefore, he announced his retirement from full-time racing during a press conference at Daytona International Speedway last year. The meet was attended by several NASCAR executives, officials, and drivers, including his younger brother Kyle Busch.
Since then, Busch has been working as a consultant to 23XI Racing, a soon-to-be three-car team operating in the Cup Series. Headquartered in Huntersville, North Carolina, the team is owned by Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin and former NBA star Michael Jordan. Besides his duties as a mentor to Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick, Busch also serves as the brand ambassador for Monster Energy. Kurt

Kurt Busch recently took Lyda to the USAC Turkey Night Nationals at Ventura Speedway. Busch’s younger brother Kyle Busch and his son Brexton both took part in the 83rd running of the event which was held on Saturday, November 30.
Reflecting on his experience watching his brother and nephew race it out, Busch took to X and wrote,

“Congrats to my lil nephew @brextonbusch for an amazing season and growing into a great young man. Give him a follow!” Busch added.
Other NASCAR drivers to take part in the event were Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsport, Ty Gibbs of Joe Gibbs Racing, and Cup Series part-timer, J. J. Yeley. Gibbs and Yeley weren’t able to qualify for the final event. However, Larson qualified 10th and finished 20th in a 26-car field. Fans can take a look at the results here.
Kurt Busch teased his fans about a potential NASCAR return through an older story on Instagram. Now whether that’s going to be a part-time schedule or a one-off appearance, is still unknown.
