Former NASCAR driver Kurt Busch and his girlfriend Lyda Moore recently shared a photo of themselves enjoying the tropical weather from an unknown location. Busch, the 2004 Cup Series champion, last competed for 23XI Racing and hung his helmet in the mid-2022 season.
The 46-year-old is a versatile auto racing driver who racked up 34 wins in over two decades of racing in NASCAR's premier division and has competed in races such as the Indy 500, 24 Hours of Daytona, and the NHRA National series.
Busch has been making the most of his retirement by visiting Disneyland and an NFL game. Most recently, the Las Vegas, Nevada native was snapped near a waterfront styling his Chicago Cubs snapback cap with his girlfriend Moore. A user on X shared the couple's photo from an undisclosed exotic getaway.
The elder brother of the two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch also shared a heartwarming note to his fans at the start of the holiday season.
"Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from AZ. Lyda and I are wishing everyone the best during the holiday season," Kurt Busch wrote on Instagram.
Kurt Busch faced a setback on his "Secret Santa" surprise
On December 22, the 2017 Daytona 500 winner Kurt Busch planned a Secret Santa surprise for a fan. However, things didn't go as planned as the fan wasn't at home when Busch personally went to deliver the surprise gift.
In a post on X, Busch talked about adding a special touch to his fan emails by gifting a diecast of the 2017 Daytona-winning car when he drove the No. 41 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing. However, the lucky meet-up didn't happen for the fan named Dan. Busch said in the video:
"Alright, so it's a Saturday before Christmas, and I got all the fan mail done, and I've always prided myself on trying to get it all out before Christmas...Don must not be home. We tried to catch him on a Saturday but a NASCAR fan in Phoenix is going to get a nice surprise. I'm Santa Claus."
Kurt Busch primarily raced for Roush Racing with whom he made his Cup Series debut in 2001 and won the NASCAR Cup championship title with them in 2004. He then joined Penske Racing followed by a brief racing season with Furniture Row Racing.
Busch joined the now-defunct SHR in 2014 and competed with them for five years before moving to Chip Ganassi Racing. His last season(2022) was with the Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin-owned 23XI, with whom Busch drove the No. 45 Toyota before handing over the reins to Bubba Wallace.
