Kurt Busch is celebrating the holiday season with 'twinning' NASCAR-themed Christmas trees with his girlfriend, Lyda Moore. However, instead of using Christmas balls, Busch hung scale models of his cars from throughout his racing career.
Busch is a former NASCAR driver who won 34 races in the Cup Series. He drove for multiple teams in the premier series, including Roush Racing, Penske Racing, and 23XI Racing.
Per Instagram, Kurt Busch posted the 'twinning' trees on his stories showcasing his racecars.
The first tree started off with the No. 45 Jordan Brand Toyota for 23XI Racing. It is joined by other No. 45 paint schemes including McDonald's and MoneyLion.
Busch also hung the three No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Fords with liveries from Haas/Monster Energy, State Water Heaters, and Monster Energy. Moreover, the tree showcased the No. 1 Gearwrench Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet and the No. 26 Suretone Entertainment IndyCar.
On the other side, the Las Vegas native hung several No. 97 Roush Racing cars including paint schemes from Sharpie, Win $1,000,000 Sharpie, Superman/Sharpie, Little Tikes/Rubbermaid, and John Deere.
The second tree was also decorated with four No. 2 Miller Lite Penske Racing cars, the No. 39 Penske Truck Rental Dodge (Xfinity Series), and the No. 22 Pennzoil Penske Racing Dodge reminiscent of Joey Logano's current car.
Perhaps his most important car was the No. 97 Roush Racing Ford where he won most of his career victories at 14 races. It was also the same car he brought to a championship-winning run in 2004.
Busch announced his retirement a year after his career-ending crash during a practice session at Pocono Raceway in 2022.
Kurt Busch failed to surprise fan for Christmas
Kurt Busch recently held a 'Secret Santa' surprise for a fan this holiday season. However, the fan named Don wasn't home when the former driver delivered a gift at the front door.
In an X post, Busch wrote:
"Alright, Don must not be home. We tried to catch him on a Saturday but a NASCAR fan in Phoenix is going to get a nice surprise. I'm Santa Claus."
Regardless, the 46-year-old wished everybody a Merry Christmas, saying:
"Merry Christmas everybody."
The gift was a diecast of Busch's Daytona 500-winning car in 2017. The No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford predominantly had the red Haas paint scheme at the front and the black Monster Energy livery at the back.
The scale model also had faux scratches on the side to imitate the damage the No. 41 sustained following a multi-car crash that Jimmie Johnson started on lap 136.
In the closing laps, Busch competed against Kyle Larson for the win. However, Larson's No. 42 car ran out of fuel, giving the No. 41 a home run to the checkered flag to win the race.
The victory was the only Daytona 500 win Busch had in his career.
