Kyle Busch is gearing up for the upcoming midget race in Tulsa, Oklahoma, set to take place in January next year. The NASCAR driver will take part in his first ever Chili Bowl Nationals, and as per his social media updates, his preparation is in full swing, that too with a '90's rap aesthetic.'
Busch shared a post on X where he shared how he was getting ready to race in the Super Bowl of Midget Racing in Oklahoma. In the post, he also tagged his sponsors, ServPro, FloRacing, and Lucas Oil.
"Gettin down to some 90s rap n wrapping cars for @TulsaShootout. @FloRacing l @SERVPRO l @Lucas_Oil."
The Chili Bowl Nationals is a yearly dirt racing event that takes place on a 0.25-mile (0.32 km) track at Tulsa Expo Raceway in January every year. In 2025, it will take place from January 13 to January 18. Besides Busch, a host of other NASCAR drivers are also taking part in next year's race.
The 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals is highly anticipated by race fans. Firstly, because it's Busch's first race at this venue. And secondly, Joe Gibbs Racing allowed its drivers to take part in races other than NASCAR for the first time in many years.
Renowned NASCAR drivers Kyle Larson, JJ Yeley, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Chase Briscoe, Ty Gibbs, and three-time Chili Bowl Nationals winner Christopher Bell will take part in next year's race at Tulsa.
What made Kyle Busch have a change of heart about dirt racing?
Initially hesitant, Kyle Busch had a change of heart to take part in 2025's Chili Bowl Nationals at Tulsa.
Here's what he had to say to the media on his change of mind:
"I would say that the biggest reason why I've changed my mind now is just having more experience of being on the dirt. Knowing a little bit more of what to expect being on the dirt."
"The Chili Bowl is a legendary event and has always been on my wishlist. To be able to compete there and then alongside my son Brexton at the Tulsa Shootout is making this year one to remember," he added.
Kyle Busch will drive the Lucas Oil/FloRacing No. 51 car in the race. Busch's change of heart surprised the fans as well as his son, Brexton Busch. FloRacing will exclusively broadcast the Chili Bowl Nationals event.
