Kyle Busch will start third in the Keen Parts 150 Pro Stocks category race on Friday. Busch is expected to return to the Lee USA Speedway for the second straight year, looking forward to recording his first win in the grassroots-level race. Last year, 'Rowdy' finished second behind the New Hampshire native, Derek Griffith.

Kyle Busch drives the number 8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Richard Childress Racing. He has 63 Cup Series wins under his belt, which also places him ninth on the all-time wins list. Besides that, the 39-year-old speedster holds the record for most Xfinity (102) and Truck Series (66) wins. Busch also won the NASCAR Cup Series championship twice in 2015 and 2019.

After Kyle Busch qualified third for the Pro Stocks race this year, NASCAR regional posted,

"Starting P3 in the Pro Stocks at Lee USA Speedway: @KyleBusch 👀"

John Esburnett, general manager at Lee USA Speedway, opined that by competing in regional races like these, veteran drivers like Kyle Busch enable the local race fans to experience racing at the highest level. According to him, it also brings the NASCAR fans and the local race fans closer to one another.

"These events are really important," Esburnett explained as reported by seacoastonline.com. “NASCAR is taking steps in recent years to reconnect to grassroots tracks, and this is great for the tracks and fans. Keeping the national level connected with the local level gets people excited and it will only help the sport grow at both levels."

The winner of the race will take home the cash prize of $10,000. Luckily, the racing aficionados will not have to wait till Sunday to watch Kyle Busch race.

Kyle Busch gives back to local short tracks and fans

The schedule of a full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver is a tightly packed one. However, Busch felt that the Pro Stocks race fit his schedule. Besides that, since transferring the ownership of Kyle Busch Motorsports, the two-time Cup champion doesn't get too many chances at running on local short tracks.

"It fits in my schedule,” Busch said, speaking of the Keen Parts 150 in an interview from last year. "And if I can get something like this in, I always want to do it. The fans in this area are great, and if I can do something for the fans, and support a short track like this, I like to try to do that."

Nevertheless, Busch would not compete just for the fun of it. He would compete to win. Reflecting on the same, Esburnett said,

"Kyle is a competitor, and I don’t think he wants to settle for second again."
"To have such a high-quality driver come here and compete with our local drivers means a lot to us. We are really thankful that he takes time out of his busy weekend to come here," he added.

However, the Pro Stocks event is not the only thing on USA Lee Speedway's bucket list this weekend. The weekly Super Street, Ridge Runner, Six Shooter, and Pure Stock divisions races will follow the Keen Parts 150.
