Kyle Busch was recently hosted by former football punter Pat McAfee on his talk show, where they discussed the infamous physical altercation between Busch and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at North Wilkesboro Speedway. The 39-year-old Busch nicknamed the #47 JTG Daugherty Racing driver "Wrecky Spinhouse" due to his reputation for frequent crashes.

During the 2024 All-Star race, #47 Stenhouse Jr. was forced to retire prematurely after getting involved in an on-track incident with #8 Busch in the first couple of laps. After the North Wilkesboro race was done and dusted, Stenhouse Jr. confronted the Richard Childress Racing driver and even punched him.

In a recent conversation on The Pat McAfee Show, Busch provided a brief background on Stenhouse Jr.'s history of crashes when asked about the reason that instigated the fight at the 2024 All-Star race. Busch said (0:24):

"I would say the biggest thing is, he (Ricky Stenhouse Jr.) has been known to crash a lot of stuff. He essentially got let go from one of his teams because he wrecked too much... He crashes a lot, sometimes even on his own."

Furthermore, the #8 Busch shared another on-track incident with Stenhouse Jr. at Daytona International Speedway a few years ago.

"There was another race a few years earlier where we were racing in Daytona and just outta nowhere he gets into my left rear and spins me out and crashes. I don't think he really meant to but it happened and he wrecked me," he said.

This incident led to Busch creating the nickname "Wrecky Spinhouse" for the #47 Stenhouse Jr.

"So i wasn't too thrilled about it and so i made up my own nickname for him and he wasn't appreciative of that...Wrecky Spinhouse...It fits, it sticks," Busch remarked. (1:03).

"Fast cars cure all" - Kyle Busch on his continued struggle with RCR in 2024

Kyle Busch is still looking to end his dry spell this 2024 Cup Series season. The two-time Cup Series champion is on the verge of failing to make it to the playoffs for the first time in his full-time NASCAR Cup Series career.

In conversation with Pat McAfee on his talk show, Las Vegas native Busch discussed his current performance with Richard Childress.

"There's definitely things that I've done in races that are kinda taken us out. I've spun on pit road, have made a restart mistake, or picked the wrong land on restart. There are things that i can do to be better," Busch said. (0:18)

However, #8 Busch believes that it comes down to having fast cars on the racetracks.

"Fast cars cure all is what I always say." Busch added.

As NASCAR gears up for the Brickyard 400 race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Busch is 102 points below the playoff cutline. He stands at P18 in the overall points table with two top-five and six top-10 finishes.
