Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has been going through a rough patch in his career. The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season has been tough for the #8 Richard Childress Racing driver. His recent troubles in NASCAR can be compared to career lows experienced by NASCAR legend and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt.

Kyle Busch’s 2024 NASCAR season has been marked by a string of poor results. Busch has faced multiple setbacks, including mechanical failures, on-track incidents, and a lack of consistent performance. Despite his undeniable talent and past achievements, he has been winless for the last year. He is on a 42-race winless streak.

However, bad phases come in every driver’s career; even legends like Dale Earnhardt have gone through similar in his illustrious career.

Earnhardt, known as “The Intimidator,” is regarded as one of the greatest drivers of all time in NASCAR history. His career, however, was not without its own share of low moments. In the 1992 season, he faced a period of struggle that saw him go winless for an extended stretch, battling on-track challenges, and finished career-worst 12th in the championship standings.

The 1992 season tested Earnhardt’s temperament, but he bounced back with back-to-back championships in 1993 and 1994 seasons.

Meanwhile, Kyle Busch’s career has also been marked by resilience. He may be facing a tough period, but his past successes suggest he has the potential to bounce back and regain his winning form. It’s just a matter of time when he will be in the victory lane.

Kyle Busch addressed his 2024 season struggles

Richard Childress Racing driver reflected his deep frustration and emotional toll from a string of bad finishes at Chicago Street Race weekend.

Kyle Busch has yet to win a race this season to secure a playoff spot. This year, the 39-year-old has had two top-5s and six top-10s, including a best finish of P3 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. With five races remaining in the regular season, he’s 18th in the Cup Series points table.

Speaking with SpeedFreaks’ YouTube channel about his ongoing struggles in NASCAR, here’s what Busch said:

“I've stopped keeping track. It’s been so dismal and so heartbreaking that I have a hard time dealing with enough stuff in my life that every Sunday to keep adding to it is getting harder and harder to deal with. Richard and I have had some discussions on some stuff and just trying to get better, trying to push in every area that we possibly can.”
