Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch's son Brexton Busch won Friday's Bandoleros event in the Cook Out 225 at Florence Motor Speedway. The 4/10 mile racetrack in South Carolina also hosted the zMAX CARS Tour Pro Late Model (PLM) and Late Model Stock Car (LMSC category) races on the same day.
Brexton, wheelman of the No. 18B SERVPRO machine in various categories, including Outlaw Karts, Bandoleros, Junior Sprints, and Restricted Micros, has recently earned a victory in the Cook Out Summer Shootout (Bandits division) at Charlotte Motor Speedway, a racetrack in North Carolina. Incidentally, his father won twice driving for Joe Gibbs Racing (2017 and 2018).
After winning Friday's feature, Brexton wrote on X:
"WINNER at Florence!! Qualified on the Pole, and led every lap of the feature! Thank you to everyone who showed up, it was really cool hearing the crowd when I climbed out of the car!🙌🏻🔥"
Brexton won his first-ever Bandoleros event last year at Citrus County Speedway. He secured 30 wins throughout the season in 11 different tracks across eight different states in the US. He was also named the Track Champion in the Beginner Box Stock Division at Millbridge Speedway in Salisbury, North Carolina.
According to a report by myracepass.com, Brexton appeared in 98 features so far this year and delivered triumphs in 34 of them. Besides that, he currently boasts 78 top-5s and 93 top-10s.
Kyle Busch excited for NASCAR's international leap in 2025
NASCAR will visit Mexico on July 15 next year to host a point-paying race for the first time since July 1958 with the NextGen car. Amazon Prime will provide live coverage of the event set kickoff at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Kyle Busch won the NASCAR Nationwide Series Corona Mexico 200 back in 2008. The Richard Childress Racing driver is excited about NASCAR's international venture this year and expects to win it as well.
"Excited to race for another win in Mexico in 2025!" he recently tweeted.
Pushing the borders of NASCAR beyond the US is a step in the right direction for several fans. NASCAR's international expansion so far has been marked by FIA World Endurance Championship icon Kamui Kobayashi (Japan), Formula 1 driver Kimi Räikkönen (Finland), and three-time Supercars champion, Shane Van Gisbergen (New Zealand), taking part in NASCAR's regular season races.
Gisbergen currently drives the No. 97 Kaulig Racing Chevy full time in the Xfinity Series and the No. 16 Camaro (also for Kaulig Racing) part-time in the Cup Series. He is expected to drive the No. 88 Cup car full time for Trackhouse Racing in 2025.
"It’s no secret we’ve been bullish about growing NASCAR beyond our borders, and the 2025 schedule is an important and thrilling first milestone in that journey,” NASCAR's executive vice president, chief venue and racing innovation officer, Ben Kennedy, said in an official release.
Meanwhile, NASCAR fans are excited for Sunday's regular-season finale at Darlington Raceway. The 367-lap event will stream live on NBC and USA, with radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (6 PM ET onwards).
