Kyle Busch's wife Samantha shared a picture of her son's victorious stance after winning the Golden Driller at the Tulsa Shootout Junior Division. She claimed that it was officially her favorite picture from the entire event.
The Tulsa Shootout was quite successful for the nine-year-old as he showcased his excellence in racing in the dirt. He remained extremely competitive throughout the race, leading from pole position to the chequered flag, winning the race without losing the lead. As he was awarded the Golden Driller award, a replica statue of the Golden Driller, which is quite prestigious in the Tulsa Shootout, her mother Samantha Busch shared a picture where he was spotted standing with his sister, Lennix.
"Officially my fav pic🥹🥹," Busch wrote on her Instagram story.
This was a major victory for Brexton. He has been racing for quite a while now and has amassed over thirty victories racing in the dirt. As mentioned, his excellence on the rough surface could be seen as he put the 18B sprint car to victory at the esteemed event.
Kyle Busch shares his "proud dad" moment after Brexton's victory
Kyle Busch, who has been training and guiding his son in racing, shared a heartfelt and emotional post on social media after Brexton's victory in the Tulsa Shootout. He claimed that it was the biggest victory in his son's career so far and that he drove a "perfect race."
"24 hours later, and I still couldn’t be more proud of @brextonbusch. Biggest moment of his career and he drove a perfect race. All the hard work he and the guys put in all year paid off," Busch wrote.
"Just a really proud dad right now," he added.
Brexton Busch also previously debuted in karting with his first official race on smooth asphalt but the competition did not go as planned as he finished behind the field. But his dominance on the dirt proves that he has a racing spirit in him.
As for his father, Kyle Busch will continue to race with Richard Childress Racing in 2025. He moved to the team in 2023 but suffered a poor season last year. He did not win a single race, breaking a 19-season streak. He recalled that the season was "frustrating."
"Certainly frustrating," NASCAR quoted Kyle Busch. "Just not at all what we had hoped it to be after some success last year, especially early in the year and having those three wins, and then struggling a little bit on and off, but then this year, just seemingly not being able to get the monkey off our back. I mean, even having a shot to win late in the day and being close at Daytona and maybe even closer at Kansas and just not being able to pull through."
"We probably had a handful of opportunities that slipped out from under us. So can’t say that we shouldn’t have won this year or never had an opportunity to, but obviously didn’t get it done."
A better result can be expected in the upcoming season. In 2024, there were occasions when Kyle Busch was close to winning but failed to capitalize on crucial moments.
