Kyle Busch's wife Samantha said that pickpocketers were real. In one of her recent Instagram stories, the 38-year-old Saint John native recalled spotting a suspicious man on the streets of the Vatican City, who she thought was a pick pocketer.

Kyle Busch and Samantha Busch are currently in Italy, enjoying a much-needed vacation. NASCAR is on a two-week break due to the Summer Olympics, which has made the trip to the historical country possible. Samantha Busch has been posting regularly about her experiences on social media, the most recent one being an encounter with a 'touristy' pick pocketer.

"I will say yes, pick pocketers are real. I'm like 92% sure I saw one at the Vatican," Samantha said. "There was this gentleman in shorts, a fanny pack, and like a little Hawaiian shirt on so that he looked 'touristy'. It was weird because I saw him out of the corner of my eye. When I was walking around, I kept my cross-body across me and I always kept a hand over it."

As the pick pocketer bagged a watch that he had probably stolen a few moments ago, Samantha Busch spotted the pick pocketer in the act.

"It was really interesting because he kind of looked sideways and he had this watch and he did this thing where he looked at it and then quickly put it in his fanny pack," Samantha said. "I was like, did I just see that...what do I do?"

Samantha told Kyle Busch and her dad about the man right after. However, the man left the scene in the blink of an eye. Samantha continued,

"I would definitely make sure you bring a purse that has a closed flap, definitely a cross-body... maybe a fanny pack. Don't have a backpack on to have something slug over your shoulder."

Kyle Busch on missing his 69' Camaro

Kyle Busch is a car buff. Although he loves driving his Toyota Camry, Ford Edge, and Chevy Corvette Z06, Busch is especially fond of his 1969 Detroit Speed-built Chevrolet Camaro. However, the two-time Cup champion is currently away from his prized vintage muscle car. Luckily, the beast is in good hands.

Kyle Busch has left his car with Lucas Oil during his absence. Needless to say, he misses his car. Reflecting on the same, Busch wrote in a recent X post:

"W the break here, I won’t b able to drive my 69’ Chevy Camaro as much as I would like. Had to give her @Lucas_Oil Injection Cleaner so she’s ready to go when I get back."

This is not the first time owning a vintage Camaro for the veteran racer. Unfortunately, he had to sell the older one off due to its poor handling and lack of proper braking and acceleration.

"I wanted to drive a classic muscle car that would keep my attention," Kyle Busch said (via motortrend.com) "So I searched the Internet for another ’69 that I could build and upgrade with modern LS power and aftermarket suspension. Although barn finds are becoming a more rare occurrence these days, this was exactly what I came across."

The car, which had run only 37,000 miles, was left without a wheelman for over two decades in a barn in Terre Haute, Indiana. Needless to say, it was the perfect find for Kyle Busch. However, the car was originally sea blue, and Busch hates blue.

"I couldn’t wait to get rid of the blue. I always wanted a silver Camaro with flat-black stripes," he added.

Kyle Busch is currently in his second season driving for Richard Childress Racing. 22 races in the season so far, the #8 speedster is 18th in the series standings with 440 points to his name. His next race is on August 11 at Richmond Raceway.
