A collision with Corey Lajoie on the first lap and a subsequent spin impacted his performance, relegating him to finish both Stage 1 and Stage 2 in the 35th position.

The difficulties continued until the end of the race, culminating in a crash on Lap 88 when contact from Martin Truex Jr. with the outside wall led to Tyler Reddick and Kyle Busch spinning on turn 3, resulting in the damage of his #8 Chevy.
