After Kyle Larson won at Bristol, he was asked about the dynamics inside the Hendrick camp in the middle of the playoffs. The four Hendrick Motorsports drivers, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, William Byron, and Alex Bowman, all made it out of the first round of the playoffs into the Round of 12.

However, only the #5 driver managed a win in the Round of 16, following which a journalist asked him about the dynamic between the four HMS drivers competing in the playoffs.

Given that all four HMS drivers have the same equipment and resources and are all after the Cup championship, Larson explained their thought process:

"It’s pretty simple. I think we all work really well together, and the teams throughout the week do, as well. Probably even more closer than the drivers get to work with each other just because the crew chiefs and engineers and team members, they’re with each other every day. I think we just try to help each other out. We want Rick and Linda Hendrick to have the best odds going into Phoenix to win a championship in the 40th season. You don’t do that by not working together," Larson described.

Larson claimed that if anything, Hendrick drivers are now working closer together at this point of the season. He mentioned he's proud of this environment within HMS, which has been there since he arrived in 2021.

Larson also hinted that things weren't always this way in Rick Hendrick's team.

"It sounded like before 2021 like they really had to build into that for a few seasons," he said.

While William Byron and Kyle Larson registered their first wins of the season pretty early in 2024, it took Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman some time to get there. Elliott won at Texas, the 9th race of the season, while Bowman's chance came at Chicago, the 19th.

Further, in the playoffs' first round, all four drivers registered results good enough to qualify for the next round.

Speaking about this and his teammates, Larson remarked that having all four HMS teams in the playoffs' next round is "a great thing" as he shared his thoughts on his teammates:

"Alex has been performing outstanding. It’s been really cool to see William; he’s always fast. You can never count him out. He could go on a stretch of winning all three races of this round, and you wouldn’t be surprised. Same goes with Chase. He’s just sneaky good. Alan and everybody works really hard. Then you have our team that’s really strong, as well. It’s fun right now," Larson added.

It'll be interesting to see how far the four Hendrick Motorsports teams go into the playoffs. Whether there could be a dream scenario that the final 4 are all Hendrick drivers, only time will tell.
