Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson disrupted his social media silence on Black Friday albeit with a cryptic message. The 2021 Cup Series champion revealed that he recently deleted X (formerly Twitter) ahead of the Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Thus, he was in the dark about the brewing playoff talks concerning his teammate William Byron and rival Christopher Bell.

However, after his last original post on October 23, which was about his second shot at the Memorial Day Double, the HMS driver re-emerged on the social media platform, on Friday, November 29, dropping a single emoji for Pristine Auction's Black Friday sale. It's worth mentioning that it's unclear whether the post was part of a contractual deal.

Larson first spoke about his social media absence when he was asked about the conversation surrounding William Byron and Christopher Bell, where the fans opined that Larson should be in the playoffs, not Bell and Byron.

The notion stemmed from the controversial Martinsville race when Bell momentarily advanced to the playoffs after a wall ride on the final lap. However, NASCAR interfered and gave Byron the Championship 4 ticket following which Kyle Larson was backed by the fans for the Phoenix race.

"I recently deleted Twitter a few weeks ago. I've been in the dark honestly. That would have been weird," Larson said of the proposed replacement. "I don't see a reason why I should be in, that'd be a bit odd," Larson said (0:50).

One of the major reasons the Californian received immense support from the fanbase would be the six wins this season, the most of all 44 drivers on the Cup Series roster.

"I was really disappointed": Kyle Larson makes his feelings known amid second Doubleheader announcement

Kyle Larson debuted in the Indy-Charlotte Double this year. He produced a remarkable qualifying run and kicked off the open-wheel race from fifth place. The Arrow McLaren driver took charge of the field with 21 laps until the checkered flag dropped but forfeited the lead for a necessary service pitstop a few laps later.

After wrapping the Indy 500, Larson flew to Charlotte only to find the race being red-flagged due to inclement weather. He geared up to replace Justin Allgaier in the #5 Chevy but officials canceled the race, putting Larson's playoff in jeopardy as he missed a regular season battle. Nonetheless, he got a waiver.

However, the thirst to finish the unfinished business is what Larson looked to quench, and as a result, announced a return for a second attempt at the Double Duty.

“I really enjoyed the month of May in Indy and racing with Arrow McLaren, but I was really disappointed with missing the Coca-Cola 600 with the No. 5 HendrickCars.com team. I appreciate the second opportunity because we have unfinished business. I really want to complete all 1100 miles, and I think we have the opportunity to battle for the win in both events," Larson said via McLaren.

Kyle Larson's Indy-Charlotte endeavor will be sponsored again by Rick Hendrick's HendrickCars.com.
