High Limit Racing, an American sprint car racing series owned by Kyle Larson and World of Outlaws veteran Brad Sweet, is expected to make a thrilling international leap for the first time since its inception. This is courtesy of its partnership with Perth Motorplex in Perth, Western Australia.
Just recently, High Limit Racing on X (formerly known as Twitter) posted the timings for the upcoming races scheduled for December 28 to 30.
This year, the winner of the grand finale will take home a whopping $100,000 (via myracenews.com). Reflecting on the same, Kyle Larson, driver of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy said:
“All of us at High Limit are excited to take the first step in expanding our brand to an international level. Australian sprint car fans are passionate and super supportive. They deserve a six-figure paying race as do the Australian drivers and teams.”
Sweet, who also happens to be Larson’s brother-in-law, said in an interview that it had always been the goal of High Limit Racing to take things to an international level, and thus become a global brand.
“Perth Motorplex is a great facility with an impressive staff and a strong fanbase. To team up with Gavin (Migro, General Manager at Perth Motorplex) and his track for our first international event was a no-brainer for us. We’re proud to be bringing a high-paying, high-caliber event to Australian sprint car fans,” Sweet stated.
All races will stream live on FloRacing. Needless to say, this only adds to an action-packed December. After all, FloRacing will also cover the 57th running of the prestigious Snowball Derby, the Gateway Dirt Nationals, and The Tulsa Shootout during this period.
Veteran ex-NASCAR racer to make a comeback with Kyle Larson-owned racing series
The last time NASCAR fans witnessed Kasey Kahne driving in the NASCAR Cup Series was back in 2018, way before NASCAR brought about the NextGen car. He used to drive the No. 95 machine for Leavine Family Racing at the time.
When Kahne announced his retirement from NASCAR six years ago, it shocked many, including Kyle Larson. Days before the sudden announcement, Larson was with Kahne in Knoxville, but it seemed like the latter had never brought it up.
“I was kind of caught off guard by it,” Kyle Larson said (via The Express),
However, as Kyle Larson’s High Limit Racing eyes an international expansion, Kahne looks forward to returning behind the wheel and that too, permanently. The 2000 USAC National Midget Series champion will be racing full-time in 2025.
In a career spanning 15 years, Kasey Kahne competed in 529 races, winning 18 of them. He also delivered 176 top-10s and secured 27 poles. Additionally, Kahne has eight wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and five wins in the Craftsman Truck Series.
