Two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch's Craftsman Truck Series team, Spire Motorsports, recently took a playful dig at the latter. In September 2023, Busch announced that Kyle Busch Motorsports would cease their operations to focus on his Cup Series career and his family.
Busch debuted in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2001 Power Stroke Diesel 200 and drove for Rousch Racing as a replacement driver for Nathan Haseleu, who was released in mid-season. Then Busch got his spot in the Cup Series in 2005 and drove part-time in the Truck Series.
Kyle Busch won his first Craftsman Series race in 2005 Quaker Steak and Lube 200 at the Charlotte Roval track. Since then, he has amassed 66 wins in his 22-year career, followed by 141 top-ten finishes and 23 pole positions in 174 races.
The Las Vegas Native debuted his team in 2010 and hasn't been winless in the Truck Series since its debut, expect 2012. He has bagged multiple wins and has run five races each season since 2018. Despite having a tough season in the Cup Series, Busch's first season under the Spire Motorsports banner was a hit. He bagged two wins, three top-fives, and three top-ten finishes.
Spire Motorsports recalled the 2024 Truck Series season and compared Busch's fulfilling season to the tradition of enjoying Thanksgiving's leftovers and stated:
"Leaving the dinner table after eating all the leftovers."
Kyle Busch won at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, leading 33 laps, and at the Texas Motor Speedway, leading an astonishing 112 laps.
Despite a major setback at his National Midget Racing debut, Kyle Busch enjoyed Thanksgiving in California
Richard Childress Racing driver Kyle Busch recently went to California for his much-anticipated debut at the USAC National Midget Series at Bakersfield Speedway held on November 27, 2024. His bad luck followed him to his debut, and the latter ended his first race in a DNF.
Busch drove the #51 car for Lucas Oil and FloRacing and dominated the race with his astonishing performance until the final laps. He suddenly lost the power of his car and lost the race, resulting in a DNF.
Despite facing a major setback, Kyle Busch didn't lose hope and went to a beach with his wife Samantha Busch, son Brexton, and daughter Lennix for Thanksgiving. He cherished his time with his family on the beach and captioned the post:
"To no one’s surprise our life on the road has led us to Cali to race. No matter where we are, I’m just thankful to be with these Turkeys.🦃"
The RCR diver is all set for his next National Midget race at Ventura Raceway scheduled for November 30, and Joe Gibbs Racing driver Ty Gibbs will be making his debut competing against Busch.
