Rajah Caruth, a NASCAR rising star and protégé of Bubba Wallace, recently voiced his dissatisfaction with FOX Sports' promotional focus, criticizing their latest commercial for the NTT IndyCar Series. Wallace, who has been a pivotal mentor in Caruth's career, continues to play a significant role in shaping his development, with Caruth’s journey reflecting the promising impact of their collaboration.
Recently, FOX Sports released a well-crafted commercial for promoting the IndyCar Series, which begins on March 2 with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
A user pointed out that FOX Sports have not promoted NASCAR with the same enthusiasm.
"Fox has been doing some super marketing for IndyCar this off-season. We haven't been seeing as much Daytona 500 and NASCAR promos from them this year 👀"
Upon coming across this, Bubba Wallace's protégé Caruth agreed and expressed his disappointment with FOX not actively promoting NASCAR. He wrote on X:
"I haven’t seen any NASCAR ads lol. Little frustrating to say the least"
Last season, Caruth reached a significant milestone by qualifying for the playoffs for the first time in his NASCAR Truck Series career. Across 23 race starts, he showcased impressive form, earning 12 top-ten finishes and 5 top-five results while driving the #71 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports. Though he narrowly missed advancing to the Championship 4, Caruth, NASCAR's youngest Black driver, remains optimistic and confident about his potential for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Bubba Wallace, who was previously out of contract for the 2025 season, has secured a renewal with 23XI Racing despite the team’s ongoing legal dispute with NASCAR. Additionally, 23XI Racing will now run as a chartered team and has acquired a pending charter from Stewart Haas Racing. The team also announced the signing of Riley Herbst as their third driver, who will pilot the No. 35 Toyota Camry XSE, signaling an expansion for the 2025 season.
"It is great to have a home": Bubba Wallace's prodigy driver Rajah Caruth reflects on securing Truck Series contract extension
Spire Motorsports Truck Series driver Rajah Caruth came close to making the Championship Race at Phoenix in his debut season, impressing the NASCAR community with his speed and skill. Grateful for the opportunity, Caruth thanked Spire Motorsports' owners for their support, emphasizing the importance of a stable environment for his career growth.
“It is great to have a home and stability heading into next year. I believe this is the first time in my career I won’t be with a new team or competing in a different series at the start of the season. I really appreciate the opportunity Jeff (Dickerson) and T.J. (Puchyr) have given me, and I’m excited to continue preparations for 2025." Caruth said via a press release
Meanwhile, the Truck Series will return for its season opener at Daytona International Speedway for the Fresh From Florida 250 on Valentine's Day. Catch the Georgia native in action on February 14 at 7:30 PM ET on FOX Sports 1, MRN, and SiriusXM.
Two days after, Caruth's appearance, mentee Bubba Wallace will also start his first regular season race, the esteemed Daytona 500 on February 16.
