Renowned NASCAR influencer Eric Estepp recently touched upon Jimmie Johnson co-owned Legacy Motor Club's new logo that the team unveiled on Friday. Addressing the change, Estepp shared that LMC needed a reset after their disappointing 2024 season where they failed to register a single victory.

LMC, co-owned by Jimmie Johnson, Maury Gallagher, and Richard Petty as brand ambassador, revealed their new logo this week. While there were no significant differences in the two logos, a subtle wing grabbed all the attention.

The old logo had Legacy Motor Club written blandly as its logo. The new logo added two identical stripes under 'Legacy' and on either side of 'Motor Club'. In a nutshell, the logo is no longer in the old Petty-styled font.

"Legacy Motor Club unveiled a new logo this morning," Estepp said in his recent YouTube video. "They pretty much changed everything else, just a subtle difference. I like the wings they've just added. Not too different from the current logo, but I like it."
"Legacy Motor Club (LMC) needs a reset after a disappointing 2024. They need to start having fun. Not sure this was the fun I was talking about (he said after watching Johnson and Petty rotating in a hilarious way), what's going on here? Anyways. New logo for Legacy Motor Club," he added. Jimmie Johnson's team unveiled the logo from their official X account with a video after a surprising announcement earlier. The video so far has garnered over 160,000 views, nearly 500 likes, and numerous re-tweets and quote-tweets.

How was 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season for Jimmie Johnson's team?

Legacy Motor Club, formerly known as Petty GMS Racing, was formed in 2021. Gallagher initially started the team, and the former NASCAR driver joined as the co-owner. They compete exclusively in the NASCAR Cup Series, and as of last year, they entered the Extreme E Series.

LMC fielded two full-time Cup Series drivers in the 2024 season—#42 John Hunter Nemecheck and #43 Erik Jones, and Jimmie Johnson's #84 under part-time obligation. They have a technical alliance with Toyota Racing Development and have Toyota as a manufacturer and the Toyota Camry XSE as their dedicated vehicle.

In 2024, none of the LMC drivers managed to grab a victory and therefore qualify for the NASCAR playoffs. The best finishes for the Statesville team have come at Daytona (Duel 1) and at Talladega when Jones finished in the Top Five on both occasions.

Jones finished the season in 28th place with 516 points. He took part in 34 races and racked up two Top 5s and two Top 10s. His teammate Nemecheck wrapped up his season in 34th place with 447 points. He took part in 36 races and grabbed four Top 10s.
