"Definitely going to be hard": Zane Smith's replacement shared his thoughts on leaving FRM amid move to Spire Motorsports
One of the first moves of NASCAR's silly season was former Front Row Motorsports driver Michael McDowell's announcement as Zane Smith's replacement at Spire earlier this year. McDowell expressed his appreciation for FRM's #34 team after the news.
“I thought about it like, man, it’s going to be a hard habit to break. I’m just thankful, thankful for the opportunity I’ve had and what we’ve built and what we’ve done, and you know, there is a new chapter, and so I’m thankful for that. I’m thankful to still have a few years in front of me racing in the Cup Series, but it’s definitely going to be hard to walk away from the 34.” he said (via NASCAR)
The Cup Series will return on February 2, 2025, for the Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. Meanwhile, Zane Smith's NASCAR career has been in a cloud of doubt as he remains out of a seat for the next season.
