While Max Verstappen is undeniably among the best ever to get behind an F1 car, the driver hasn't tried a professional stock car race. However, motorsports Insider Alanis King believes Verstappen would love NASCAR for dive-bombing every corner.
Verstappen is a 27-year-old F1 driver under Red Bull Racing. He has won the last four open-wheel single-seater F1 drivers' championship titles now.
In an X (formerly Twitter) post, King said watching the Red Bull Racing star dive-bomb in NASCAR would be the "best thing ever."
"Max Verstappen would love NASCAR so much. He would dive-bomb every corner. It would be the best thing ever," the Insider wrote.
She replied to the post by saying Verstappen dive-bombs people on iRacing, an online racing simulation video game.
"Yes, I’m watching Max dive-bomb people on iRacing," King added.
For the uninitiated, dive-bombing is an overtaking move when approaching a corner. The trailing car would hit the brakes a little later to make a pass and gain a position before taking the turn. It requires precision and skill as dive-bombers are prone to locking up and overshooting.
Verstappen has had notable dive-bombing moves in his F1 career. One of them was on seven-time champ Lewis Hamilton during the season finale of the 2021 season in Abu Dhabi. The Red Bull Racing driver dive-bombed the inside of his rival into turn 5 to take the lead on the final lap and win the championship.

However, the move hasn't always worked out in the Dutchman's favor. This year, Verstappen lost the chance for a podium finish after dive-bombing Hamilton and locked up before the two made contact at the Hungarian Grand Prix. He also received two 10-second penalties on one lap for aggressive driving against Lando Norris at the Mexico GP.
Regardless, King thinks the four-time champ would be exciting to watch in NASCAR.
Dive-bombing would be possible on the stock car racing league's road courses only. The upcoming season will hold five road course races including Circuit of the Americas, Sonoma, Watkins Glen, Charlotte Roval, and the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City.
NASCAR's Kyle Larson said he's a better all-around driver than Max Verstappen
In August this year, Kyle Larson made headlines after claiming he's a better all-around driver than Max Verstappen. Larson said Verstappen wouldn't win over him in other racing series outside open-wheel racing like F1 and IndyCar.
In an interview with FloRacing, the Hendrick Motorsports driver stated:
"I know in my mind I am better than him as an all-around driver [...] There’s no way (Verstappen) can get into a Sprint Car and win the Knoxville Nationals. There’s no way he can go win the Chili Bowl. There’s no way he can go win a Cup race at Bristol."
The NASCAR driver added:
"That’s what gives me ease and confidence that, like, I know I’m better than him. Maybe not in an open-wheel IndyCar or Formula 1 car, but that’s one discipline. I think I would beat him in everything else. You can quote that."
In response, Verstappen said:
"That's fine. Everyone thinks their own way, right?"
The two drivers are champions in their respective sports. However, Verstappen won more titles at four compared to Larson at one.
