NASCAR driver Kyle Busch and his wife Samantha celebrated their son Brexton's big win at the 40th Tulsa Shootout with joy and pride. Brexton led the entire race and held off tough competition in the Flying A-Motorsports Junior Sprints.

The nine-year-old won his first Golden Driller trophy this Saturday with over 100 drivers in the 2025 Tulsa Shootout's junior division. During an interview with FloRacing, the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Busch talked about his son's win and mentioned feeling more nervous than competing in the Daytona 500.

"I think this is more stress and more butterflies on me here for him than it is for the Daytona 500. I mean, this is just such a huge deal. And it means so much as a family, and what we do, and what we pour our lives into, and how we take away from our anniversary week. And we spend it in Tulsa every year now... So I just can't be prouder of the boy," Kyle Busch said (00:38).

Kyle and Samantha celebrated their 14th anniversary on New Year's Eve. Samantha further spoke about Brexton working hard all year to win the Golden Driller after a failed attempt in 2024.

"I was crying. I'm so proud of him. He's worked at this all year. He was so upset last year. Literally every race he went to this year, he's like, 'I'm doing it for Tulsa. I'm doing it for the Driller.' And he did it. I'm so happy.," Samantha added (00:15).

Brexton has about four years of racing experience at dirt tracks like Millbridge and Mountain Creek Speedways. He has previously won over 30 races in Outlaw Karts, Bandoleros, and Restricted Micros.

"I feel like a mixture of both" - Kyle Busch on preparing Brexton for NASCAR

Kyle Busch wants Brexton to have dirt and pavement racing experience for his NASCAR future. In a previous interview at Tulsa, Busch talked about preparing him for tougher tracks and older competitors.

"I feel like a mixture of both, he’ll be good at anything. A lot of guys, like Larson, right? Larson grew up doing the dirt stuff, so he’s great at the dirt stuff, and he’s obviously great at the NASCAR stuff. I just feel like if you mix in a little bit of the dirt and a little bit of the pavement right now, you can do anything... Right now, NASCAR is the end goal," Busch said (03:20 onwards).

Brexton also made his karting debut at Trackhouse Motorplex in December last year.
