Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick shared a festive Merry Christmas message on social media, which included a playful jab at Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Harris, following an extensive campaign trail, lost the presidential election to former President Donald Trump.
Patrick transitioned to NASCAR in 2010 after excelling in the IndyCar Series. Over her seven-year NASCAR career, she ran in 191 Cup Series races with Stewart-Haas Racing, earning seven top-10 finishes. Her standout moment came in the 2013 Daytona 500, where she finished eighth and made history as the first woman to lead laps in the prestigious race.
Recently, Patrick shared a video of Kamala Harris from 2017 where Harris is seen criticizing the idea of celebrating Christmas in the context of DACA status being revoked. Here are the comments for reference (via Yahoo):
"And only when they cleared that vet did we give them DACA status. And now we're talking about taking it away. It is morally wrong. And when we all sing happy tunes and sing "Merry Christmas" and wish each other "Merry Christmas," these children are not going to have a "Merry Christmas." How dare we speak "Merry Christmas." How dare we. They will not have a "Merry Christmas." They don't know if they will be here in a matter of days, weeks and months. Since Sept. 5, over 12,000 have lost their status. Each day, 122 lose their status. Each week, 851 lose their status. Each day matters."
Meanwhile, Donald Trump, whom Patrick avidly supports, referenced these comments during his campaign for presidency this year and claimed Harris doesn't support saying "Merry Christmas". Sharing the video on her Instagram story, the former NASCAR driver jokingly wrote:
"Merry Christmas Eve"

I love my parents and my sister is my best friend. I am so grateful for that. She was also the one that proposed the idea of going to this event last year.... I think we started a tradition. Now let's head to Indianapolis for Christmas with the fam!” she wrote.
