Team owner Kelley Earnhardt took to her social media to share a picture of her son, Wyatt Miller's helmet and the meaning behind the imagery on it. Miller, who is participating in the Tulsa Shootout, is wearing a helmet that features the number 3, a flamingo, and a cross on the back.

Kelley, who has a net worth of 50 million euros (via Celebrity Net Worth), explained the meaning behind the symbols on her son's helmet in a stories post she shared on her Instagram with the breakdown in the caption.

"Someone asked about the significance of Wyatt's helmet. Dale Earnhardt (3), Jesus (cross) and @jasonmcdougal69 (flamingo)," Kelley Earnhardt wrote.

Wyatt, who has racing history from both sides of his family, honoured his maternal grandfather, NASCAR Hall of Famer, Dale Earnhardt's car #3. Earnhardt Sr. ran 529 races with the number, scoring 67 wins, along with accumulating 227 top fives and 348 top 10s.

Along with the number 3, and the cross for religious purposes, Miller also used a flamingo, in reference to Jason McDougal, a fellow Tulsa Shootout racer, who posted Kelley's post to his own Instagram stories, adding information to the helmet's meaning. McDougal captioned his post with:

"flamingo breeder for life"

Wyatt Miller is competing in the Winged Outlaw, Non-Wing Outlaw, Winged A-Class, and Stock Non-Wing categories of the Tulsa Shootout. He finished P3 on January 2 in Race 200 of the Stock Non-Wing category.

Kelley Earnhardt's son Wyatt Miller defends crown in 2025 Tulsa Shootout

Miller, who is also the nephew of NASCAR Hall of Famer and multiple race winner Dale Earnhardt Jr, scored a career high last year at the Tulsa Shootout when he took home the victory of the micro sprint series. At the age of 12, Kelley Earnhardt's son won the Golden Driller at the beginning of 2024 when he led every lap of the K&B Racing Restricted A-Class feature event.

Sharing his thoughts on winning last year, the young Earnhardt took to his instagram to reflect on the win and discussed his 2025 plans for the shootout in a video he shared before the racing series began.

"It’s driller season. I didn’t think I was going to win the driller; I had the goal of top five. It’s the biggest race of the year, and to win that means a lot. I feel really excited to just want to make the A-Class winged A-main and have a good run and just finish all the races I run. I want to thank all my sponsors: Bass Pro Shops, Tufco, Brandt Agriculture, and Odless. Let’s go get a driller."

The driller race this year will take place on January 4 at the Tulsa Expo Raceway where Miller will attempt to defend his crown.
