NASCAR team-owner Kelley Earnhardt is all ready to cheer for her son Wyatt at the upcoming Tulsa Shootout. Kelley took to her Instagram stories to hype up Wyatt.
Drivers around the United States are preparing for the 40th annual Smiley’s Racing Products Tulsa Shootout. Serving as a prelude to the Chili Bowl Nationals, the Tulsa Shootout features different classes of races, with drivers of different age groups competing in it.
One driver set to compete in the Restricted A-Class is Dale Earnhardt's grandson, Wyatt Miller. Wyatt, the son of Kelley Earnhardt and L.W. Miller, is set to enter the A-Class race determined to defend his crown at the iconic race at SageNet Center at Expo Square.
Taking to his Instagram handle prior to the race, the 13-year-old driver shared his thoughts and aspirations, stating:
"It’s driller season. I didn’t think I was going to win the driller; I had the goal of top five. It’s the biggest race of the year, and to win that means a lot. I feel really excited to just want to make the A-Class winged A-main and have a good run and just finish all the races I run. I want to thank all my sponsors: Bass Pro Shops, Tufco, Brandt Agriculture, and Odless. Let’s go get a driller."
Reacting to her son’s Instagram post, Kelley Earnhardt took to her own Instagram stories to share her encouragement. With just five words, she summed up her hopes for Wyatt. The JR Motorsports co-owner, who is worth $50 million (according to Celebrity Net Worth), wrote:
“Let’s go get another Driller."
Post the Heat races for the Tulsa Shootout, Wyatt took to his Instagram handle once again, writing:
"Had a good day at the shootout. Learned a lot and finished P2 in my Winged Outlaw heat. Hopefully, that'll put us in a good position in that division🤞🏻"
How did Kelley Earnhardt's son Wyatt Miller fare at the Tulsa Shootout last year?
The then 12-year-old Wyatt emerged victorious in the Restricted A-Class of the 2024 Tulsa Shootout. His performance at the event was a pure display of his skills and racing genetics.
Wyatt’s victory at last year’s Tulsa Shootout remains a highlight of his career. Leading every lap of the feature, he displayed maturity beyond his years. Despite early contact with competitor Jett Nunley, Wyatt maintained his composure, securing a commanding win.
Notably, two-time Xfinity Series champion and Wyatt's nephew Dale Earnhardt Jr. also congratulated the young Wyatt after the latter's win in Tulsa last year.
Kelley Earnhardt has two more children with his ex-husband Jimmie Elledge. The 24-year-old Karsyn Elledge is a voice actress. Meanwhile, her younger sibling Kennedy is 23.
