Former NASCAR driver and reporter Kenny Wallace has got a sponsor for his highly popular coffee mug. Wallace took to X (formerly Twitter) to share this news in his characteristic animated style with a heartfelt message of gratitude in his “Coffee with Kenny” show. He secured Sunoco as a sponsor for his coffee mug.
Kenny Wallace uploads a video on X every Monday where he talks about the recent happenings in NASCAR while having a cup of coffee. His mug is constant since the first “Coffee with Kenny” video and became a trademark of his show.
In the latest episode of “Coffee with Kenny,” the 61-year-old St. Louis, Missouri, native reflected on how his morning coffee mug, which became a topic of fun conversation among fans, led to a sponsorship. Wallace shared how Fred McConnell, a senior marketing executive from Sunoco, noticed the buzz and decided to sponsor the mug.
On securing Sunoco as a sponsor for his coffee mug, Wallace, who has a net worth of $9 million (according to Celebrity Net Worth) said:
“Happy Monday morning, everybody. Drinking my high-octane coffee fueled by Sunoco. Would you look at that? Hey Herman, why do you hold that coffee mug up? Finally, we got a sponsor, and it was all of you. I'm sitting there drinking that coffee mug, and everybody's like, Herman, you need to get a sponsor on that coffee mug.
“Well, you know what? My dear friend, Fred McConnell, senior executive of marketing, Fred McConnell, he heard all of you, and he heard all of us having fun… Look at that. Sunoco Race Fuel been with me forever. So thank you, Fred McConnell."
Kenny Wallace has a new sponsor for his YouTube show as well
Even after retiring from NASCAR as a driver almost a decade ago, Kenny Wallace has been involved in the sport in some capacity. Whether it’s through his work as a sports analyst for FOX or his YouTube channel, he's still connected to NASCAR.
In the aforementioned video, Wallace also announced JEGS as sponsors for the YouTube channel. The company had sponsored Wallace throughout his NASCAR career. Wallace said:
“It just doesn't stop there. JEGS said that they wanted to just sponsor the YouTube show only. So JEGS is still with me.”
Kenny Wallace competes on local dirt tracks across the country after spending over 26 years in NASCAR. He was named the NASCAR Busch Series (now known as the Xfinity Series) Most Popular Driver in 1991, 1994 and 2006.
