Tony Stewart and his wife, Leah Pruett have become parents most recently, and this was the racing driver couple's first child together (both raced in NHRA or National Hot Rod Association, a drag racing competition in the United States and Canada).
While Tony Stewart, a millionaire (currently worth $18.5 million as per Forbes), continued racing in the NHRA and reached the finals this year, his wife stepped away from the competition to focus on growing the Stewart family.
Tony Stewart and his wife, Leah Pruett celebrated the birth of their son recently
In November last year, Tony Stewart's wife, Leah Pruett, gave birth to their son, Dominic James Stewart. The birth of the child has come nearly three years after their marriage. The couple have been married since 2021, after coming into a relationship in 2020.
Speaking about his son, Stewart said that it was an emotion he never had before. The owner of now-defunct Stewart-Haas Racing, who is currently 53 years old, said,
"I’m just proud to have him, and when I saw his face today, it just (was) an emotion that I’ve never had before."
Following this, the former NASCAR driver shared how he handled the responsibility of naming his son, whereas his wife took care of the rest.
"(Coming up with the name) was my only job because she knew not to give me more responsibility," he joked. He didn't consider Tony Stewart Jr. There’s no way in hell I would give a kid a strike against him right out of the gate like that."
After retiring from racing in NASCAR, Tony Stewart continued as the co-owner of the NASCAR team, Stewart-Haas Racing alongside Gene Haas. However, after the 2024 season, he decided to part ways with the sport.
In his illustrious career, the Columbus-born driver participated in 618 Cup Series races in over 18 years, where he claimed three championships, 49 race wins, 15 pole positions, and 308 Top 10s.
Stewart also raced in the other two NASCAR national series — the Xfinity and Truck Series. In Xfinity, he racked up 94 races in over 18 years, whereas in Truck, he only raced six times in nine years.
