Alon Day is all set to return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Watkins Glen. The Israeli motorsport driver will sit behind the wheel of the #45 Chevrolet Camaro for Alpha Prime Racing. This will be his second Xfinity Series appearance this year as the 32-year-old already took part in Chicago practice earlier this year.

The race will be held at Watkins Glen International on September 14, Saturday. The Mission 200 at the Glen will be a 200-mile race and consist of 82 laps.

Making the announcement, Alpha Prime Racing posted a picture of Day, and his #45 JSSI-wrapped Camaro on X.

"Back for more. 4x NASCAR Euro Champion @Alon_Day and @jssi will return to the #45 next weekend at @WGI! #Mission200 | @XfinityRacing," the caption wrote.

Alon Day is the first Israeli driver to have competed in all three NASCAR Series. He has two Cup Series appearances from 2017 and 2018, two Truck Series races from 2016, and three Xfinity Series races from 2016 and most recently in 2024.

This is set to be Day's eighth appearance in the NASCAR racing series and fourth entry in the Xfinity. Earlier in Chicago, the Ashdod-born driver's outing was jeopardized when he side-swiped Justin Allgaier during Saturday's practice for The Loop 110 in Chicago.

Alon Day is a four-time EuroNASCAR champion and is also a prominent IndyCar-sanctioned driver. He won the EuroNASCAR series in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2022, and has 32 victories to his name in 95 starts.

Having conquered the EuroNASCAR series, Alon Day's next adventure is in the United States. The Israeli driver, ahead of The Loop 110 at the Chicago Street Race back in July, said that he needed to prove his worth on American soil to fetch himself a seat in the NASCAR series.

“I won’t go to the EuroNASCAR series," Day said to heavy.com. "I won four championships already. I hold every record. I think if somebody will eventually break my record I will go back. But for now, I think I’ve done enough in Europe, and it’s time for the next step.”
“I want to be good. I want to take this opportunity that they gave me, the sponsors, JSSI and Alpha Prime Racing, and leverage that to the best I can,” he said.

While Day is all set to prove his worth to the American NASCAR audience, it will be interesting to see how he fares when the Mission 200 gets underway at Glen International Speedway on September 14.
