Parker Kligerman recently praised TV broadcaster for NBC Sports, Leigh Diffey, for his high-energy commentary during the final lap of the NASCAR Cup Series Watkins Glen race. The #48 Xfinity Series driver emphasized that while Chris Buescher’s last-minute overtaking of Shane van Gisbergen was undoubtedly thrilling, Diffey’s commentary, combined with the active camera angles and audio mixing, heightened the race's excitement.

Just a day prior to the Cup Series event, Kligerman himself had competed in the NASCAR Xfinity regular season's penultimate race, the Mission 200 at the Glen, finishing in P7. He had started from P19, advancing to P16 by the end of Stage 1 and P13 by the close of Stage 2. Currently positioned at P9 in the driver standings with only one race left before the playoff's commencement, Kligerman expressed his admiration for the overall broadcast quality of the event at Watkins Glen.

Sharing his appreciation on social media, Kligerman wrote:

"I think I’ve watched this finish 20 times this week. An incredible call by @leighdiffey but what also adds to that is the camera shots & audio mix. None of which happens by accident. That’s talented humans who prepared & made decisions in the moment. The engine noise then the burst of crowd noise. A whole team that recognized the moment and acted accordingly. Motorsport TV perfection"

Parker Kligerman is now ready to compete at Bristol Motor Speedway this Friday, September 20, at 7:30 PM ET, during the Food City 300. With an average finish of 18.8 across five races at this venue, Kligerman has secured three top-10 finishes, though two of his races ended beyond P30.

Parker Kligerman has shared insights into his life post-NASCAR career

After dedicating 15 years to the sport, Parker Kligerman, who has been racing the #48 Xfinity Series car for Big Machine Racing since 2022, will retire at the end of this season. Throughout his stint in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, he secured top-10 finishes in 47 of his 109 starts.

Reflecting on his impending retirement during an episode of Motorsport's "Behind the Visor," the 34-year-old expressed a serene acceptance of his future. He remarked:

"I think sometimes I perform better than I ever have, because I'm not afraid of the other side. I've been there, I've already seen it. I know you don't die. There's life out there. You're not that young phenom anymore, but there are a lot of awesome things in growing up. [...] As I got older, it was like: ‘I don't care, screw it. I'm just going to be me.’" [via MotorSports]

Currently, Parker Kligerman is in a strong position in the playoffs, standing at P11 with a substantial lead of +85 points above the cutoff. And if all goes well at Bristol, he will compete in the Round of 12 of the Xfinity Series.
