Former JGR driver Sheldon Creed took to his Instagram stories as he revealed the fruit of an eight-hour grind. Following Christmas, he took on a challenge that almost clogged his brain and exhausted his eyes.
The challenge was to complete a 1000-piece puzzle. These puzzles are usually very difficult to put together and, needless to say, take hours to solve. But Creed did it. After doing so, the 2020 Truck Series champion expressed his feelings through the story, saying,
“8 hours later we have completed the 1000-piece puzzle. My Brain and eyes will be taking the next 3-5 business days off.”
Creed will join the Haas Factory Team in 2025, alongside ex-JR Motorsports driver Sam Mayer. While Mayer will drive the No. 41 machine, Creed will pilot the No. 00 for the newly formed Cup Series organization. Haas Factory Team will debut at Bowman Gray Stadium on February 2.
Reflecting on the opportunity, Creed said (via Racer),
"I feel like Haas Factory Team is a place I can succeed, and where Sam and I can work together to win races and be championship contenders."
Joe Custer, President of the Haas Factory Team (via NASCAR) said,
"Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer have won championships on their way to the Xfinity Series and they’re both hungry to win races and compete for an Xfinity Series title. They bring significant experience and a shared desire to win. Having them a part of Haas Factory Team allows us to operate at a high level and collect trophies.”
As of today, Creed has eight victories in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He also won the ARCA Racing Series championship in 2018. The Californian is yet to win his first race at the Xfinity level.
Sheldon Creed rounds off his stint with JGR with a one-liner
With 70 career starts to his name, Sheldon Creed joined JGR ahead of the 2024 season. Before moving to the Xfinity Series, Creed spent three full seasons driving trucks under the banner of GMR Racing and Richard Childress Racing.
As per reports, Creed’s move to Haas Factory Team is going to mark him switching teams for the third time in four seasons. As he prepared for his upcoming ride, Creed looked back at his days with JGR.
Reflecting on the same through a post on Instagram, the 27-year-old driver wrote,
“Was a fun ride @joegibbsracing, 2 poles, 16 top 5s, 23 top 10s.”
Creed’s next NASCAR race is on February 15 at Daytona International Speedway. In seven starts at the 2.5-mile racetrack in Florida, Creed amassed two runner-up and two top-10 finishes. His average finish at Daytona is 93.1.
The 120-lap event will begin at 5 pm ET onwards. CW will provide live coverage of the race. Fans can also listen to radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
