Jeb Burton gave a firm reactionto a fan who called his family "notoriously poor". This was with regard to the Jordan Anderson Racing driver being unhappy with the way Sam Mayer raced at te National Debt Relief 250.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Martinsville Speedway ended with Chandler Smith taking a swing at reigning series champion Cole Custer. However, that’s not the only time tempers flared between drivers on Saturday.

Jordan Anderson Racing driver Jeb Burton was not happy with the way his fellow racer Sam Mayer had raced him. Mayer, who drives the No. 1 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, a five-car Xfinity team owned by Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr., could only finish 33rd and walked away with a DNF, his ninth of the season.

On the other hand, Burton, the son of the 2001 Daytona 500 winner and former NASCAR driver Ward Burton, delivered a top-10 finish. But the 32-year-old Halifax native didn’t mince words, slamming Mayer mid-race.

“You better that rich kid punk that I will put him over the grandstands if he wants to race like that,” Jeb Burton said (quoted by journalist Dustin Albino through a recent post on X).

A fan commented on the same saying:

“Ah yes, because the Burton family is notoriously poor.”

To which, Jeb Burton replied:

“My dad doesn’t pay 3.5-5 million a year for me to race he spends zero.”

Mayer has not responded to Burton’s comments yet. The Wisconsin native is a seven-time winner in the Xfinity Series, with his most recent win coming at the Charlotte ROVAL in October.

Jeb Burton was not the only one unhappy with Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 21-year-old prodigy. Mayer allegedly wrecked another Jordan Anderson Racing driver right in the opening stage of the 250-lap event at the Virginian short track.

Parker Retzlaff, who drives the No. 31 Chevrolet for JAR, got sidelined from contention with just 7 laps to go in Stage 1 after Sam Mayer pushed him off the track and into the wall. Retzlaff’s derailed car started a multi-car wreck catching Josh Williams and Chandler Smith in the mess.

Despite starting the race from the pole at Martinsville, his second of the year, Retzlaff had to settle for an unfortunate DNF. However, he was not ready to let it slide. Per The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi, Retzlaff radioed to his team,

“He had my f***ing tires off the ground and he drove me through the Turn 1 wall.”

Later that day, Retzlaff took to X, further voicing his frustration.

“Great car means nothing now. Get jacked up coming into the restart zone so I can't get going and then drove into the turn 1 wall! Thank you to @FunkAway and @JARnascar for the great car and thanks to the 1 and 11! Goes with the rest of the season. See you in PHX” he wrote.

Former Stewart-Haas Racing driver Aric Almirola, who currently drives for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Xfinity Series, won the race. It was his third win this year and his second at Martinsville this season. In a race featuring 12 lead changes and 13 cautions, the 40-year-old speedster led 150 laps, besides sweeping each of the first two stages.

The NASCAR Xfinity field will meet again at Phoenix Raceway for the coveted Championship 4. The event will air live on CW with radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio from 7:30 pm ET onwards
