The NASCAR All-Star Race is finally done and dusted. The much-awaited exhibition event of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season started on Sunday at 8 pm ET and lasted for one hour, 20 minutes and 59 seconds. It took place at North Wilkesboro Speedway, with a total of 24 entries.
Josh Berry and Ty Gibbs advanced to the All-Star Race after finishing P1 and P2, respectively, while Noah Gragson entered through the fan vote.
Driving the #5 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports, Kyle Larson put in a dominating performance to win the prestigious All-Star Race. The 30-year-old earned a $1 million prize for his victory in the annual non-points event of the season.
In a race that was filled with thrillers, Kyle Larson led 145 of the 200 laps and crossed the finish line 4.537 seconds ahead of Bubba Wallace to take the checkered flag in NASCAR's first race at the North Wilkesboro Speedway since 1996.
The win marked Larson’s third of his career and third in his last four appearances. He also became the first driver in All-Star Race history to win the event at three different tracks, as previous wins came at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2019 and Texas Motor Speedway in 2021.
Meanwhile, Bubba Wallace, who ran near the front most of the night, finished runner-up, followed by Tyler Reddick, Chase Briscoe, and Chase Elliott, in the top-five.
Last year’s All-Star Race winner, Ryan Blaney, finished the race in sixth-place, followed by Daniel Suárez, Erik Jones, Ty Gibbs, and Joey Logano, who complete the top 10.
The All-Star Race just saw three lead changes among two drivers and witnessed two caution flags.
