NASCAR 2024: Full weekend schedule for Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway

The Bass Pro Shops Night Race is set to take place at the Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 21. The 266.5-mile race will be telecast on USA Network and NBC Sports at 7:30 pm ET.

Located in Bristol, Tennessee, it will be the 29th race of the 2024 NASCAR season and the third of the 2024 NASCAR playoffs. It will see the Next Gen car in action for the sixth time at Bristol. The Bristol Fall race is divided into three stages. Stage 1 ends on lap 125, Stage 2 consists of 125 laps, and the Final Stage consists of 250 laps.

The Bristol Motor Speedway is a 0.53-mile short track featuring 26-30 degrees of banking in the turns and 6-10 degrees of banking on the straightaways.

The Bristol track hosted its first NASCAR Cup Series race in 1961. Jack Smith/Johnny Allen won the inaugural Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

It will be the 127th Cup Series race hosted by Bristol Motor Speedway. The 37 drivers entering this week’s Cup Series race will compete across 500 laps in 266.5 miles. The NASCAR Cup Series weekend will begin with a practice session and qualifying session on Friday (September 20), followed by the main event the following day.

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin will enter as the defending winner of the event after securing a thrilling victory in last year’s Bass Pro Shops Night Race.

Darrell Waltrip holds the record for most Bass Pro Shops Night Race wins with seven. He won the event in 1979, 1981–1983, 1986, 1989, and 1992. Waltrip is followed by another Cale Yarborough, with five wins.

Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, and Joey Logano are the only three active drivers who have won multiple Bristol Fall races.
